What happens when the batch plant isn’t anywhere near the job?

On remote civil and mining projects, concrete supply can quickly become a logistics problem.

Zentech’s volumetric capability allows the individual materials to be transported to site and concrete to be produced fresh, where and when the project requires it.

That gives project teams greater flexibility around:

• pour scheduling
• changing volume requirements
• staged works
• remote locations
• reducing unnecessary over-ordering and leftover concrete

Across recent remote works, Zentech’s on-site batching capability has supported everything from larger reinforced pours through to ring beams, footings and detailed concrete works around existing infrastructure.

Remote concrete production means coordinating the materials, equipment and batching capability required to keep the job moving.

Why haul every tonne of material hundreds of kilometres into a remote project if suitable material is already sitting on site?

That’s where volumetric concrete starts to become seriously useful.

Where existing or recycled material is suitable, tested and compliant with the project specification, Zentech can assess its potential for use within the batching process, then produce the concrete fresh on site, where it’s actually needed.

For remote mines, regional projects and agricultural sites, that can mean:

-less reliance on newly quarried aggregate
-reduced material being sent off site as waste
-fewer unnecessary material movements
-less dependence on distant concrete plants
-more productive use of resources already available on the project

The environmental case is real. Australia recovered 22.4 million tonnes of building and demolition material in 2022–23, an 84% recovery rate. Research into recycled-aggregate concrete also identifies reduced demand for virgin aggregate and reduced landfill disposal as key benefits, while showing that transport distance is a major factor in the overall environmental outcome.

That last point matters enormously in regional WA.

If suitable material already exists close to the job, why automatically truck everything in and everything else out?

Assess what’s there.
Use what makes sense.
Batch on site.

Material reuse is always subject to suitability, testing, mix design and project specification, not every waste or recycled material is appropriate for concrete.

Not your standard concrete pad.

The Zentech team recently delivered a 43m³ concrete pour in Perth, creating a heavy-duty equipment pad designed for some seriously big machinery.

At 350mm thick, reinforced with double mesh and capable of supporting excavators weighing up to 80 tonnes, this pour demanded serious volume, consistency and control.

From loading the materials through to batching and producing the concrete directly on-site, Zentech’s volumetric truck provided a flexible, efficient solution tailored to the requirements of the job.
