Civmec is excited to share that the major structures for the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges are now in place.
The project will provide two iconic six-metre-wide cable stayed bridges over the Swan River, that will create a kilometre long crossing between McCallum Park, Heirisson Island and Point Fraser. Ultimately, this project aims to achieve greater connectivity and safety for the thousands of cyclists and pedestrians who travel through the area every day.
With construction on the project commencing last year, all 16 of the Civmec fabricated bridge modules, along with the bridge pylons, are now in place for the project’s expected completion later this year.
The project will now move into the next stage of construction, which will include the installation of state-of-the-art feature lighting, transforming the bridge into an eye-catching and iconic Perth landmark.

Causeway Bridges Boomerang Pylon
Check this out! The final pylon has been installed on the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges Project.
The boomerang pylon, which symbolises the spirit of the Whadjuk warriors, was fabricated at our Henderson facility before being transported to site for installation. It’s now standing tall in Perth and will be admired for years to come by the anticipated 3,000 pedestrians and cyclists who will use the bridges each day.
We think it looks incredible!

To demonstrate a commitment to driving industry innovation and cost effective solutions, Civmec recently held an event at our Henderson facility showcasing EonCoat.
EonCoat is a safe, environmentally sustainable and effective treatment solution for corrosion prevention and management of carbon steel assets.
See below for a quick video from the event.
As we approach the final week before the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, let's rally together to show our support for Mylon and Pat who will be sleeping rough to help raise funds and awareness for Vinnies.

Civmec Gets Dug In!
Construction on the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges is well underway. Watch the video below to see the digging stick being installed. As part of the project, the bridge design pays homage to Aboriginal heritage, drawing inspiration from the incredible stories of Fanny Balbuk and Yagan, two important Aboriginal figures linked with Heirisson Island.
To install the segments and digging stick we are using one of the largest crawler cranes in Australia - weighing in at a massive 1500 tonnes.
We're thrilled to be part of this significant local project and can't wait to share more updates with you soon.

👷 Project Update 👷
The Causeway Link Alliance, which comprises of Civmec, WSP, Seymour Whyte and Main Roads Western Australia are excited by the arrival of the first bridge deck segment onsite for the new Causeway Cycling and Pedestrian Bridges.
These bridges, upon completion, will offer a spacious 6-metre-wide shared path, and seamlessly connect the Victoria Park foreshore at McCallum Park with Heirisson Island and Perth's CBD at Point Fraser.
This development promises a vastly enhanced alternative to the existing paths on the Causeway Traffic Bridges and underscores Civmec's commitment to advancing infrastructure for the community's benefit.
Check out the video below of the segment departing our Henderson based facility.
Civmec is excited to share that just prior to the Christmas we successfully completed and delivered a bucketwheel and bucketwheel ring-chute for Port Waratah Coal Services.
Civmec’s scope for the project included the supply, fabrication, machining, surface treatment and delivery of a bucketwheel and bucket wheel ring chute for our important local resources client. The Civmec Newcastle team not only met the project's budget and deadlines but also maintained a high standard of quality throughout the project.
We’d like to thank all those involved for their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to more opportunities to deliver outstanding results for our key clients and communities.

Last Friday, as part of our NAIDOC week celebrations, Civmec held an event at the Covalent Lithium site in Kwinana.
Over 700 attendees enjoyed an insightful and deeply engaging presentation from Indigenous Services Australia (ISA) featuring Tony Shaw, Carola Verschuren and Delly Stokes. Tony's deep understanding of Indigenous culture was there for all to see and we are very grateful for his presence and the knowledge he shared with us.
Adding to the atmosphere was Delly Stokes from the Yabu Band who showcased some of his amazing musical talents, and really brought the event to life.
To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle after the presentation. It was fantastic to see everyone gathered around, engaging in meaningful conversations while enjoying some tasty food.
We love to extend our appreciation to all the attendees for joining us and contributing to the success of the event.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to the incredible team at ISA for taking the time to join us in our NAIDOC week celebrations.
Civmec Raises $120,615 for Vinnies!
We would just like to take a moment to thank everyone who supported Civmec throughout the Vinnies CEO Sleepout campaign 2023. Without your generous donations, we would not have reached our fundraising target.
We can all be proud of our contributions, and by donating to the cause we know that we're contributing to a better society, where those currently experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness are supported through the services that Vinnies provides.
We are thrilled to announce that not only have we exceeded our $100,000 goal but have also become the top fundraising team in WA!
A huge congratulations to Pat Tallon, Pat Connell, and Danielle Pukeroa for participating in this year's sleepout. We hope you weren't too cold!
Additionally, we'd also like to extend a thank you to the event organisers and Vinnies Australia for the amazing work that you do.
