One of our industrial clients reported a fault with one of their machines. This was messy work! After a bit of investigation, turns out a rag had been caught in the mechanism, causing A LOT of issues!

🔥 WINTER WARMERS 🔥
This week's tip is about the little things you can do to help keep your home warm and SAVE MONEY on your power bill!
Short Term
❄️Hot Water Bottle - go old school and take one to bed or snuggle on the couch with a hot water bottle!
❄️Layer Up - dress warm and pop some socks, slippers or ugg boots on around the house
❄️Find the draught - Make sure your windows and doors are completely closed! Invest in door runners which stop the warm air escaping the room. And utilise doors to section your home and keep the warmth in the area you're using
❄️Rug up - if you've got wooden or tiled floors, get some rugs happening! They're excellent for providing immediate insulation!
Long Term
❄️Wood Fire - these cost around the same as it does to install a reverse cycle aircon, but once it's in, it's much cheaper to run! You can purchase a tonne of wood for around $200 which should see you through your winter.
❄️Insulate - make sure you've got your home insulated. You can save around $450 a year from having adequate insulation!
❄️Seal it up - go through your house and seal all the cracks and windows. Did you know, if you added all your cracks up, it would be roughly equivalent to a 1m x 1m window being left open?!

🔌 Services Highlight || Testing & Tagging 🔌
'Test and Tag' is the process of checking the safety of portable electrical appliance to guarantee the safety of the people in the workplace who may come into contact with the appliance, as well as minimising the risk of an electrical hazard.
WHO NEEDS IT?
Industries such as construction, demolition and mining are required to have their appliances tested and tagged every three months and thanks to our top of the range testing and tagging Perth team, we can offer the service as a one off or as part of an ongoing maintenance contract. Due to the harsh nature of the industry, which means equipment may be damaged at a faster rate than usual, such regular scheduled testing is essential. The test and tag colours will change for different periods throughout the year, which effectively makes certain times of the year coincide with a specific test tag colour.
HOW OFTEN?
🔧3 months: building, construction and demolition
🔧6 months: factories, warehouses and production
🔧12 months: an environment where the equipment/supply cord is prone to flexing or open to abuse

Ever wondered why we call our electrical business 'EV Electrical Services'?
Well, firstly we will tell you how we started.
A few years ago, with little to no electrician jobs around Perth, Steve had no choice but to restart his FIFO work. It was always difficult, but we were now a family of three, with our daughter only one year old.
4 week long stints were the only thing on offer, so we took it.
It felt worse than it ever had at the airport, and after tears from me (Jessie), he walked over to the line to board the plane. I stood a few meters away with Jaxxi. I suddenly had an overwhelming feeling this wasn't the right choice and I texted him to say 'my gut says don't go.' He jumped out the line the moment he read it. He called and cancelled his work. And then we went home and decided to start our own business.
After getting a small loan to pay for the Electrical Contractors course, Steve got his certificate & insurances and EV Electrical Services had officially began.
So why the EV? We named it after our daughter, because her middle name is EVELYN.
And she is the reason we decided not to separate our family for a month at a time and instead bust our butts to make this work.
