The intention of this page, other than promoting the work we do, is to create an environment that is missing in the Tactile Paving industry in Perth. We would like this to be a location where customers can view our previous work and our current projects, and also where our clients can leave questions or perhaps criticisms so that we can improve our business model to better serve our clients.

The terracotta concrete Stikcrete® TGSI installed on these pram ramps will still look great once this subdivision in Hilbert is finished. In the meantime they will withstand the vehicle traffic from the tradies that will no doubt drive over them at some point whilst building construction is happening.

Have a great weekend and cross safely from this week into the next.

New and shiny are these black Stikcrete® TGSI requested by Wormall Civil in Baldivis. What a great contrasting colour to the white concrete! The shine will disappear with time due to use and exposure to the environment. However, the colour contrast will stay and along with their tactile feel these Stikcrete® TGSI will keep guiding people with no or low vision across the road safely for a long time to come. No shifting, lifting or curling! Concrete on top of concrete with the right adhesive, our Stikcrete® TGSI are made and installed to last.

Did you know we service the whole Perth area out of our conveniently located workshop in Maddington? This is regardless of whether it is North, South or East of Perth. We travel everywhere. Occasionally we also receive regional requests and have installed our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI both in the South and North of WA. One of our most recent regional jobs was in Port Headland!

Today's Stikcrete® TGSI picture is from West of Perth, where our TGSI installation completed renewed ramps in the City of Fremantle, who are a long-standing customer of ours.

These renewed pram ramps in the City of Melville are now user friendly for vision impaired community members. Our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI were the final touch to complete the ramps. They will safely guide vision impaired people across this road for many years to come without becoming a trip hazard for the community. Unlike plastic TGSI, our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI won't lift, shift or curl.

We hope everyone had a good long weekend and managed to stay safe from the wild weather that occurred in parts of WA on Saturday night.

TENDER AWARD!

We are proud to announce that Tactile Indicators Perth was the successful tenderer for the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale TGSI Tender. This tender is for a 2+1 term and our concrete stick on Stikcrete® product was the overwhelming favourite.

The SSJ has many plastic and fibreglass TGSI that are either failing or have failed and we look forward to rectifying these TGSI as well as completing new installations.

Thank you SSJ for placing your trust in our Stikcrete® and we look forward to the next 3 years working together!

The photo below is just for attention. No one else's tactiles look this good!

Our concrete terracotta Stikcrete® TGSI completed this pram ramp in Eden Hill for our customer, the Town of Bassendean.

Concrete on concrete adhered with a concrete adhesive - these Stikcrete® TGSI will last for a very long time. They will help keep vision impaired people using this ramp safe and they will not create trip hazards for anyone, as our Stikcrete® TGSI don't shift, lift or curl.

As we head into a new weekend we wish all our followers a safe and wonderful couple of days. We hope you get a chance to soak up the sunshine before the possible rain sets in and manage to stay free of the winter lurgies that are making the rounds.

This is our recent installation of black concrete Stikcrete® TGSI in Wellard for Wormall Civil.

New, shiny and reflective is what our freshly installed concrete Stikcrete® TGSI look like in this subdivision in Baldivis prepared by Wormall Civil, a good customer of ours.

The reflectiveness makes them almost look like plastic TGSI. We guarantee they are not. Stikcrete® TGSI are made by us and installed with a concrete adhesive. The bond is extremely strong. Our Stikcrete® TGSI will be able to withstand subsequent vehicle traffic from trades. They won't lift, shift or curl with time and they will help keep the vision impaired who need to use these ramps safe for years to come.

One of our installations earlier this week in Booragoon requested by Dowsing Concrete.

Terracotta Stikcrete® TGSI on the light coloured concrete pram ramps and white Stikcrete® TGSI on the black asphalt median is a common colour combination. Once the witches hats are removed and the works complete, this road crossing is ready to be used.

We hope everyone had a good weekend and mother's day.

We have an upcoming replacement job in the City of Canning that we look forward to sharing once we've upgraded the location to our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI. The failing TGSI have already been removed, so installation should be straight forward. The remaining adhesive will still need to be ground off using our Hilti concrete grinding equipment. Our Hilti dust suppression will ensure that both our staff and pedestrians are kept safe from silica risks during the grinding process.

From the photo the old TGSI look like they've been installed to Australian standards. We will find out...

Thank you to The Civil Guys for the opportunity to do this job in Joondalup.

Whilst the yellow TGSI may look like plastic at first glance, they are definitely not. These newly constructed medians are fitted out with our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI. This means the City of Joondalup will not have to worry about maintenance or risk to the community due to them failing.

Plastic TGSI are not the best product for our hot climate here in Perth. As the concrete temperatures fluctuate between 0°C and 50°C, the plastic TGSI expand and contract. With those forces working against the bond of the tactile, they start to lift and curl, ultimately causing them to become a trip hazard.

This is a restoration job in the city of Melville, a long standing customer of ours. We've removed the old failing plastic TGSI and replaced them with our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI, removing the hazard and eyesore that failing TGSI create and rendering the crossing safe once more.

Refurbished pram ramps in Subiaco completed with our Main Roads WA approved concrete Stikcrete® TGSI. These TGSI will not go anywhere! They're adhered with our epoxy adhesive, which is a concrete adhesive, and mechanically fixed with screws. Thank you City of Subiaco for choosing Stikcrete® TGSI. We look forward to working with you again in the future.

Sometimes our Stikcrete® TGSI installation is done in stages - like we did in this job for West Coast Civil in Carlisle . Once the road surface is done, we will go back to add the median TGSI. This prevents our concrete TGSI from being marked with Asphalt during the road works and ensures our Stikcrete TGSI will have a quality finish once constructions are complete.

Today's pictures are a clear example of a failing product and poor workmanship in the repair.

The plastic TGSI are lifting away from the ramp, simply because plastic is not a suitable outside TGSI. This creates a trip hazard. Whilst a repair has been attempted, it is clear that the repairer either has poor knowledge of TGSI installation or doesn't care. Otherwise why would a 300x300 TGSI tile have been used to fill the 400x400 gap.

Had our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI been used, we guarantee a repair would not have been needed and they wouldn't be lifting, shifting or curling.

Our recently installed concrete, MRWA-approved, black Stikcrete® TGSI look shiny and reflective in this new subdivision in Piara Waters by Densford Civil.

Don't mind if we say so ourselves, but our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI are looking good in this new subdivision in East Baldivis Park, an installation requested by Wormall Civil. And whilst the building trades might drive over the ramps, we know they will look just as good once the suburb is finished. Our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI are made to last.

This picture is part of a recent installation in Malaga.

As asphalt is dark in colour, cream Stikcrete® TGSI are more commonly used in medians. Often, this is in combination with either terracotta TGSI (as in this photo) or black TGSI on grey concrete ramps to maintain the required colour contrast on each surface as per AS1428.4. The correct use of colour is important as TGSI are supposed to cater and provide safety for a range of vision abilities. The colour contrast guides people who still have some vision, whilst the tactile feel is for people who have very low to no vision.

At Tactile Indicators Perth we manufacture our concrete Stikcrete® TGSI in terracotta, black, cream and yellow to ensure we can provide sufficient contrast on your surfaces.

02/04/2024

Whilst made from concrete, our Stikcrete® TGSI are flexible enough during installation that they are able to conform to the curvature in pram ramps. Once the adhesive is dry and set, Stikcrete® TGSI become strong enough to even withstand vehicle traffic. They won't lift, shift and curl as most plastic TGSI do and are therefore a great product for the hot weather we experience here in Perth.

Our Story

We have a very unique product in the Tactile market here in Perth. Our Stikcrete Tactile is a stick on tile that is manufactured from concrete, not plastic, and is installed with an element of skill that is missing in the tactile industry. Our Stikcrete tiles are grouted for professionalism, sealed from dirt and debris for longevity and 100% recyclable for sustainability.

The intention of this page, other than promoting the work we do, is to create a portfolio of just some of our work and we would like this to be a location where customers can view our previous work and our current projects. We encourage our clients and members of the public to leave questions or perhaps criticisms so that our company continues to grow in the right direction.
