Today at our Whadjuk (Perth) head office, we were treated to a special cultural learning with Kim Farmer and Denice Kickett, who talked about what this year’s theme means to them and Monadelphous' partnership with the Polly Farmer Foundation. Have a listen to what Denice had to say.
Kim, a proud Noongar woman with extensive experience in law (as a Barrister and Solicitor for the Aboriginal Legal Service and as a Sole Legal Practitioner), Native Title, Land Heritage, government, and not-for-profit Aboriginal organisations, is currently serving as a criminal defence lawyer.
Denice, is a passionate advocate for human rights, especially for Noongar and all First Nations peoples, has over 35 years of experience in Aboriginal affairs, having led numerous organisations, developed strategies, and worked with carers and children.

This impressive crane, named in honour of our former Chairman, John Rubino, is a symbol of our commitment to innovative solutions and service excellence. Rubino has an impressive load capacity of 1600 tonnes, capable of lifting the equivalent of three Boeing 747 airplanes at a radius of 42 metres! With a total of 1,155 tonnes of counterweight, it can lift more than any other crane currently in Australia.

concrete sleeper lift hands free_1.mp4
Starting this year, we're implementing a 'hands-off' approach to rigging at Monadelphous.
Removing hands from loads under tension will prevent hand and crush injuries, which is a key focus for Monadelphous. Training is underway, and hands-off rigging aids are becoming part of our standard toolkits on site. This bold step aims to further protect our people and we thank all teams for embracing and embedding this initiative into how we work.
This video is an example of a hands-free concrete sleeper lift.
At Monadelphous, we proudly prioritise safety through innovations like this. The Safe Way is the Only Way!

We're thrilled to announce that Monadelphous has been honoured with the Queensland Government Work Well Award in the category of ‘Best demonstrated healthy and safe work design’ for our exceptional work on the Tails Gas Stack project at the Mt Isa Acid Plant.
Facing a series of challenges in 2020, including insufficient vacuum truck power and steel bars falling within the stack, Monadelphous engineers and experts joined forces to create the innovative "Armadillo”.
The Armadillo has enhanced safety performance, boosted efficiency, reduced workforce requirements, and eliminated environmental risks in our operations.
This award sets a new standard for workplace safety in our industry and reaffirms our commitment to excellence and innovation. Well done to everyone involved for making this possible!
