Happy International Women in Engineering Day! 👩‍🔬

Today is a great opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions and achievements of women in engineering. These women are helping Monadelphous deliver outstanding service to our customers and shaping the future by inspiring the next generation of women in our workforce.

This day highlights the contributions of women to the engineering field and promotes gender diversity in STEM. In line with our Gender Diversity and Inclusion Plan, Monadelphous aims to inspire female students to take advantage of STEM study and career pathways that lead to engineering, and do our part in ‘filling the pool’ of future talent in the industries where we work.

We spoke with some of these inspiring women to hear their insights about engineering. Have a read here!

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

This week across Monadelphous we released our new Cultural Awareness video, showcasing Monadelphous’ journey, our ambitions for reconciliation and our determination to improve cultural awareness across our business and amongst our people.

Our people participated in Walk for Reconciliation in Perth CBD, along with our sponsorship of Reconciliation WA and had access to our Book Library with books from a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Authors highlighting Aboriginal stories and covering history and culture.

🌟 Meet Warrick Smith, a true champion of safety with over 41 years of industry experience!

Starting his journey at Bunning's timber mill, Warrick honed his skills in load handling, eventually joining Monadelphous fulltime in 2022. Through the years, he has witnessed the evolution of safety in construction firsthand, fuelling his passion to make a difference.

"I remember when safety became a big thing in the late '80s/early '90s," Warrick recalls.

Driven by a desire to contribute, Warrick obtained his certificate IV OHS in 2012, mentoring riggers and sharing his expertise on site. His favourite part? Engaging with workers and guiding them towards safer practices.

For those eyeing an HSE role, Warrick's advice is golden: "Gain field experience first. A trades assistant role gives you invaluable insights into our industry."

We're thrilled to unveil – ‘Rubino’, our newest and largest crane in the Monadelphous fleet!

Earlier this week, we were joined by Tadano Oceania’s President and CEO, Mr. Ujiie, and Executive Officer, Mr. Ted, who travelled from Japan, along with the local Monadelphous team and customers in Port Hedland to celebrate this milestone.

We named the crane in honour of John Rubino, the former Chairman of Monadelphous.

Rubino has an impressive load capacity of 1600 tonnes, capable of lifting the equivalent of three Boeing 747 airplanes at a radius of 42 metres! With a total of 1,155 tonnes of counterweight, it can lift more than any other crane currently in Australia.

Commissioned for the Car Dumper 3 project in Port Hedland, Rubino will play a pivotal role in support of our operations, positioning Monadelphous to leverage new opportunities and deliver to our customers.
