Struggled a long time to find someone to make a spare for the van, between the " we can t do it " and quotes priced over the roof , I was loosing hope

Just sharing an email I just received from a supplier
No need to name it cause it s not the issue here
The issue is that one orange man and his associates are making our lives more expensive and it s always us , down in the food chain , who suffer from the repercussions
All suppliers now have raised their prices , it s something we have to live with . Think of it : living in the most remote city in the world + raised cost of transport and manufacturing= Price up
I always give a fair price on the jobs I m doing but it makes me very sad to see how much it has to be raise to make ends meet
On the other hand , agenda is filling up well , and talking with other roofers it s the same for everyone, expect at least 3 weeks for inspections and 5 to 7 weeks for jobs to be done if it can t be fixed on inspection
If you want a safe roof for winter it s now or never to contact me

Free tip of the week:
Frequently, clients inquire about removing stains on soffits caused by leaking gutters or downpipes. Once I've completed my repairs, they often ask about eliminating the water stains!
Here s a DIY easy fix :
1: Prepare in a spray bottle a mix of 1 part bleach to one part water
2: saturate your flat mop with your mix ( don t spray it str8 on the soffits , it will end up on your clothes, face, plants, floor)
3: mop your soffits 👌
4: let it dry and voila !!
No need for hard scrubbing, it s a very satisfying job

Those type of vents are the best to keep your roof space well ventilated , in November last year I did a post that explains why you should get some , go check it out 👍

Thanks to Jean and Ian to let me do their reguttering
Work done in Carine , in colorbond classic cream ,over 140 lm of slotted gutters to prevent any damages to their soffits if downpipes get blocked ( the joy of having big trees around the house 🤣) ... Just to let you know I do gutter clean too😋
Replacement of a few downpipes too , in colorbond red manor, original terrain colour been discontinued by colorbond
Happy customers who rewarded me with heaps of cuttings , yes I m a roofer but also a gardener on my spare time
