Line die-cast models up facing forward and you lose half of every car.

The back of each one sits against the panel behind it, unseen. You know what's there, but nobody looking at the cabinet does.

A mirror back hands it back. Every model is seen from both ends at once, the shelf reads twice as deep, and a collection that fills one cabinet looks like it fills two. Worth knowing before you choose a back panel, because it is not a decision you can change later.

LuxGuard uses 6mm tempered mirror rather than standard mirror glass — it is a structural back panel, not a decorative sheet stuck on.

This run went down a hallway in Iluka. The cabinets are 500mm deep, so they take a corridor wall that was doing nothing, and at 2m tall the run carries a lot of collection without eating a room. The customer put every one of them together themselves.

Five adjustable 8mm tempered shelves per cabinet, 25kg each · three downlights up top plus four COB strips down the corners · sliding glass doors, lockable · Bluetooth lighting control, no wi-fi needed.

Watch the tray, not the counter.

Loading a display case is normally an awkward job. You reach in through the front, lean over whatever is already sitting on the deck, and arrange the back row by feel.

This one slides the whole tray out to you. The glass front travels with it, so the entire deck is in front of you at waist height and you work from above — seeing every piece, touching only the one you mean to. Slide it back and the glass seats into the frame like it was never open.

It matters most when the counter is full. Rearranging a busy display through a front opening is where things get chipped.

LuxView™ Showcase Counter — 1200 x 450 x 950mm. Black aluminium frame and legs, clear tempered glass all round, round LED lights set into the underside of the glass top. Cool white standard, warm white at no extra cost, RGB available. Bluetooth app control, no wi-fi needed.

Assembly is four legs. The glass top comes pre-built.

Two cabinets. One wall.

Both of these are 1m wide, 500mm deep and 2m high. Because the height and the depth match, the tops line up and the shelf lines run straight across the join — so a pair reads as one built-in wall rather than two cabinets pushed together.

That's worth knowing if you're trying to fill a 2m space. Two 1m cabinets will do it, and done this way nobody can tell.

Now look at the bottom shelf.

In most lit display cabinets the only light is in the top panel. Beautiful when the cabinet is empty. Load it up and the lower levels sit in the shadow of whatever is above them. LuxCore runs three downlights up top AND four COB strips down the internal corners, so the lowest shelf is lit as well as the highest. Across five levels, that's the difference between a display you can see and a display you can half see.

Both cabinets came flat packed in wooden crates and the customer put them together. That's the result.

Black aluminium frame · swing glass doors · lockable · adjustable 8mm tempered shelves, 25kg each · Bluetooth lighting control, no wi-fi needed.

Most display cabinets are a frame with glass in it.

ClearEdge is the other way round. The glass is the structure. There's no aluminium outline drawing a box around whatever you put inside.

Two of them went into an Ocean Reef home last week — a 1.2m beside a 0.9m, on matching white bases. Both are 1850mm high and 450mm deep, so the tops line up, the shelves line up, and the two bases butt together as one plinth. A 2.1m run, and the only thing marking the join is a single glass edge.

Pairing two widths is worth knowing about. You get the length without committing to two identical cabinets.

One detail people query: the shelves are fixed, not adjustable. That's on purpose. Adjustable means tracks and brackets down every upright, and in a frameless cabinet there's nothing to hide them behind. Fixed keeps the glass clean and the shelf line dead straight. Four 8mm tempered shelves per cabinet, 25kg each.

Lighting is COB strips full-height in the internal corners — a line of light rather than a row of dots. Bluetooth, no wi-fi.

Where you put a trophy cabinet decides whether anyone sees it.

Most clubs end up with theirs down a corridor, or in the function room that's only open on event nights. Years of work, seen twice a year.

This club in Dayton put two either side of the front doors instead. Every member, every visitor, every opposition side walks past them on the way in.

Two things worth knowing if you're planning the same.

Black, not silver. These stand against a fully glazed entrance. Against that much daylight a black frame keeps its outline — a pale one washes out and the whole cabinet goes vague.

And check the shelf rating, not just the size. Trophies, shields and perpetual cups are heavier than they look. These are five adjustable 8mm glass shelves rated to 25kg each.

1200 x 500 x 2000mm, LED lit, lockable swing doors. Delivered and assembled.

Two cabinets. Four colours. Same room.

Delivered and assembled in Canning Vale this week — a pair of LuxSlim Storage towers either side of a desk, 500 x 500 x 2000mm each.

Look past the cabinets in these photos. The walls change. The ceiling changes. The floor changes. That is the part people don't expect — two slim towers are enough to colour a whole alcove, and it all runs from a phone.

The other half of the design is underneath. Glass and light on top for what you want seen, an enclosed storage base below for everything you don't. Four adjustable glass shelves, 25kg each.

Bluetooth, no wi-fi. On, off, dimming, patterns, music sync. Keyless combination lock. One plug, no electrician.

Worth saying plainly: RGB is an optional upgrade, not standard. Cool white is standard and warm white costs nothing extra.

A mineral collection is one of the harder things to display well.

The specimens come in every size — thumbnail crystals through to amethyst plates that take up a whole shelf — and most of what makes them worth looking at sits in surfaces that only show under decent light.

This one went into Magmin in West Perth. LuxGuard Plus, black, 1500 x 500 x 2000mm.

Two things in it earn their keep.

The shelves are single-piece glass across the full 1.5 metres. No centre divider. A divider quietly decides where your biggest piece is allowed to go — take it out and a large plate sits wherever it looks best.

And the lighting is four downlights plus four corner strips, not just downlights. Crystalline faces need light arriving from more than one angle or they read flat and grey.

Five adjustable shelves, 25kg each. Sliding doors, lockable, dimmable from a phone.

Crystal doesn't sparkle in a cupboard.

Cut glass only comes alive when light hits it from more than one direction. Sit a collection like this on a timber shelf under a ceiling light and it goes grey. Put it behind glass with a mirror back and strips down all four corners, and every piece is lit from the sides, from above, and from behind its own reflection.

That is the whole reason the mirror back exists. It is not decoration. It doubles the light and shows you the back of every piece at the same time as the front.

LuxCore Mirror, 1000 x 500 x 2000mm, black frame. Five adjustable 8mm glass shelves, 25kg each. 6mm tempered mirror back. Lockable, and dimmable from your phone.

A customer sent us this photo some years ago and we still pull it up when someone asks what a mirror back actually does.

Delivered and assembled in Lakelands this week.

LuxGuard glass display cabinet, silver frame, swing doors, 1200 x 500 x 2000mm.

It turns up flat packed in plywood crates, goes together on site, and is lit before we drive off. One plug into a standard power point. No electrician, no wiring, no waiting.

The lighting is the part worth paying attention to. Three downlights in the top panel AND four COB strips down the corners. Downlights on their own look good in a photo and then leave your bottom two shelves sitting in shadow. Light from above and from every corner, and the whole cabinet reads.

Five adjustable 8mm glass shelves, 25kg each. Lockable. Dimmable from your phone.

Silver, black or white.
