Strengthening the home’s street presence, a new square picket fence on a sandstone base frames a clean limestone path to the original heritage porch. The front garden balances structure and softness with a limestone baton walkway that threads through layered planting connecting the frontage, driveway, and new side entry.

Planting includes Buxus japonica, Fatsia japonica, Euphorbia wulfenii, Rosmarinus ‘Prostratus’, Kalanchoe hildebrandtii, Dichondra repens, and Olea europaea.⁠

This new courtyard garden in New Lambton is now underway. By removing a small patch of turf, we’re increasing the courtyard’s usability and creating a more inviting, textural landscape. Scattered organic bluestone paving will sit within a lush mix of verdant groundcovers, layered shrubs, and a standout Cercis ‘Forest Pansy’ as a feature planting.

This approach still retains a sense of green while making the space far more functional and significantly lower maintenance.

This serene, resort-style space blends natural materials with a modern edge. A Japanese-inspired timber soak bath sits low among smooth river stones, surrounded by lush tropical planting for privacy and a calm, grounded feel.

Built‑in, custom designed outdoor lounge seating, including a curved formed concrete bench with upholstered seat pads and scatter cushions creates a generous place to gather in the sun. The space is designed for year round outdoor living.

Construction is well underway on another Merewether project, kicking off in the front garden, focusing on essential structural foundation repairs, along with renewing the timber decking and widening the entry stairs to complement the existing style of the residence.

These updates will enhance the home’s street presence while preserving its historic charm.

Spent Sunday exploring . Wandered through the gardens and grabbed a relaxing lunch and beer in the bamboo grove. Such a great spot to explore. Definitely worth a visit.
