🚨 What Started as "Water Pooling in the Paddock" Turned Into Four Separate Plumbing Issues 🚨
FlynnCo was called out to a property in Morayfield to investigate excess water building up around the yard, along with concerns about the grey water and septic systems. What we found was a lot more than expected.
🔧 Grey water system — A corroded galvanised tee had rusted down to almost nothing, blocking flow and creating an access risk. Removed, and full flow restored to every outlet, including the paddock discharge sprinklers.
🔴 Illegal cross-connection — Tracing the pipework under the house, we found an open valve quietly feeding the home's drinking water with rainwater at the same time as mains supply — a real contamination risk. Isolated and capped on the spot, with rainwater and potable water now properly separated.
💧 Hidden leak — A boggy yard and water running down the driveway led us to a burst poly fitting buried near the rainwater tank. Excavated, repaired, pressure-tested and confirmed leak-free before backfilling.
🚿 Damaged shower rose — previously "fixed" with Loctite (please don't) — replaced during testing.
Plus a quick kitchen aerator swap to stop a splashy mixer tap, at the tenant's request.
⚠️ One item still outstanding: the septic discharge line has a partial obstruction that needs a high-pressure jetter and further camera inspection to fully clear — flagged for follow-up.
This is exactly why a proper investigation matters, especially on larger or older properties — what looks like one issue is often several stacked on top of each other.
