Was an absolute pleasure to volunteer my time alongside the many other passionate & hard working locals, in taking the first steps to restoring the pub I've heard so many great stories about.
Rolling in late afternoon, I could see first hand the power of work that had been carried out with the loads of piles of prunings all stacked up ready to mulch up.
Over the next couple of hours until dusk, everyone powered through together as the mountains of vegetation were eventually processed down to woodchip.
The community spirit was strong & the many hands made light work of it all in the end, with the battlescars of the odd bit of Blackberry and Holly to show for it.
Certainly grateful to have been able to play a part in helping my local community.
No drink for me afterwards though, I'll wait until the day the bar is open and taps are pouring again.
