GIVEAWAY — Win a $500 Proteaflora Voucher

The guessing game continues.

This clue takes us to South-Western Western Australia, one of the most biodiverse plant regions on earth.

More than 8,000 plant species are endemic to this region and found nowhere else in the world. Some of the most ornamental and impressive Banksia species are found here. Of the 76 Banksia species recorded, 62 occur only in Western Australia.

Across every season something is in flower in this landscape. According to Bush Heritage Australia, this creates a year-round supply of nectar and pollen - supporting one of the highest concentrations of pollinators in the country.

This remarkable ecosystem is where the story of our next plant release begins.

At this year’s Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, we’ll introduce the first plant in a brand-new series of Australian natives.

It traces back to an iconic species from south-western Australia…

…but we didn’t name it after the plant.

We named it after the pollinator that keep it alive.

Think you know what it is?

Over the next two weeks we’ll release more clues revealing the relationship behind the name. Those who guess earlier in the sequence will have a greater chance of winning.

We’ll be selecting a lucky winner who will receive a $500 Proteaflora online store voucher.

Winners and our big reveal announced 18th March.

NEW RELEASE + GIVEAWAY

We’ve been quietly working on something new.

The breathtaking beauty of the Australian landscape, isolated from the rest of the world by vast oceans, has allowed plants here to evolve and adapt over millions of years. Nearly nine out of ten are found nowhere else on earth, the highest rate of endemism of any country.

We’re celebrating the unique and diverse flora of these incredible landscapes by bringing more endemic plants into our range, beginning with the first release in a new, entirely native series at this year’s Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.

This first release traces back to an iconic species from South Western Australia…
…but we didn’t name it after the plant.
We named it after what keeps it alive.

If you know your Australian ecosystems, you might be able to piece it together. What do you think it is?

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be releasing a series of clues, each revealing a little more about the relationship behind the name. Those who guess earlier in the sequence will receive a greater chance of winning.

We’ll be selecting a lucky winner who will receive a $500 Proteaflora online store voucher.
Winners and our big reveal announced 18th March.
