This contemporary pavilion-style residence at our project in Regional Victoria is a masterclass in restrained luxury and effortless indoor-outdoor living. Wrapped in striking charcoal cladding beneath a crisp standing seam roof, the home sits confidently within its landscape. Large expanses of glazing dissolve the boundary between inside and out, revealing warm, inviting interiors while framing the surrounding landscape. Skylights punctuate the roofline, drawing natural light deep into the home and reinforcing the sense of openness that defines the design. The freshly finished timber decking adds warmth beneath the bold architectural palette, inviting contrast against the deep charcoal exterior. It's a space that balances sophistication with comfort, where every material has been selected to age gracefully and every detail contributes to a home designed for relaxed, contemporary Australian living.

We showed you the intial works back in April about how you create that floating feeling? Beyond its visual impact, the cantilever becomes a functional part of the home — providing protection from the elements, creating usable covered spaces and opening up uninterrupted views without the need for columns beneath every projection. This expansive open-plan living space at our Gisborne project was a study in restraint, craftsmanship and proportion. The architecture resists the temptation to overwhelm, instead allowing a carefully curated palette of natural materials and refined detailing to quietly command attention. The soaring ceiling is anchored by exposed timber beams that introduce warmth and authenticity, their robust character softened by crisp white walls and an abundance of natural light.

Together they create a sense of scale without sacrificing intimacy, transforming what could have been a vast volume into a welcoming family space. The polished concrete flooring grounds the space with understated confidence, adding texture and durability while complementing the warmth of the timber overhead.

What makes this interior particularly compelling is its honesty. There are no unnecessary flourishes or decorative excesses. Instead, every finish, junction and material has been considered, creating a home that feels timeless rather than trend driven.

What starts as a cleared block at our new Bentleigh project quickly reveals the scale of what sits beneath. A substantial basement excavation requires careful planning, precision earthworks, engineering and coordination — all before the home begins to rise above ground.
It’s a stage of the build that will eventually disappear from view, concealing the workshop, sauna, cinema room, gym and a host of other amenities, but one that sets the foundation for everything to come!

We love this feature piece on our Daylesford project which stands a beautifully crafted Japanese-inspired timber gate with its rich, weathered tones catching the warmth of the late afternoon sun. The substantial timber members celebrate natural texture and craftsmanship, lending the structure an understated monumentality against a backdrop of crisp blue sky. The result is a garden that feels contemplative rather than ornamental—a carefully curated outdoor sanctuary where architecture and landscape exist in perfect balance. It's a timeless expression of modern Australian design, influenced by Japanese principles of simplicity, craftsmanship and connection to nature.

Captured on one of our Coastal projects, this image showcases the installation of the AFS Rediwall® permanent formwork system before the concrete pour. Engineered for strength, accuracy and efficiency, these reinforced concrete walls will form the structural backbone of the home, delivering exceptional durability and performance for decades to come. While this stage may never be seen once the home is complete, it's one of the most critical. It's where engineering, craftsmanship and attention to detail come together to create a structure that will stand the test of time.
