Is your home still relying on an old fuse board like the one pictured here? Outdated fuse boards are a leading cause of electrical fires and offer very little protection.

This home in Doncaster’s fuse board was well and truly due for an upgrade.

A modern switchboard upgrade introduces safety switches, which instantly cut electricity in milliseconds to stop severe shocks and save lives.

A few snaps from a big job completed recently in the hills. Check out that awesome view! Dozens of power outlets added, as well as ceiling fans, heated towel rails and strip heaters. 🔥

Dead short on arrival today — ended up being a lizard laying across active and neutral in this gate power box.
Not the most common fault, but it’ll shut a circuit down instantly.
Fault cleared and power back on. 😄

It’s been a relatively busy start to the year! After having all my tools pinched late January, I’ve since upgraded and bounced back nicely.

During Febuary, I got to spend some time sub contracting on a solar farm in Mildura, it was an awesome experience and great to get exposure to other areas of the trade. ☀️

I’ve kept busy throughout this period, but I’m always looking to onboard more work, if you’ve got any electrical tasks/projects around the house that you’d like to discuss, please get in touch on 0401 312 650!

Cheers, Dan - djc Elec

Had some help from the apprentice on this one! A few downlight installs for a family member, so naturally had to bring the dog along.

As helpful as she looks, not only did she distract me, she also tried to play fetch with a few of my tools. 😆
