Dave is HIP V. HYPE’s Head of Better Buildings and Environmentally Sustainable Design, responsible for leading the performance design and specifications that make ParkLife 2 homes warmer in winter, cooler in summer and healthier, with no gas and filtered indoor air.

Harry is HIP V. HYPE’s Project Management Lead on ParkLife 2, playing a pivotal role in collaborating with the architects, engineers and builders to ensure the project is delivered according to our Better Apartment Living framework.

80% of monitored interior temperatures across Australia fall below the WHO’s minimum healthy indoor temperature of 18°C in winter. Cold indoor temperatures are associated with 6.5% of deaths in Australia, compared to 3.7% in Sweden. And approximately 90%
of the buildings that will exist in 2050 have already been built. Not mild stats by any means…! 😮‍💨

Our Passivhaus Technical Lead, Marcus Strang (PhD), has been exploring the scale of the EnerPHit opportunity in Australia and is excited to be presenting again at this year’s THRIVE conference.

Using case studies from certified residential EnerPHit builds, plus a school project in Ballarat with adaptive reuse elements, Marcus’ technical expertise will detail decisions, methods and long-term moisture safety considerations.

We recently welcomed , Minister for Planning of Victoria to ParkLife 2, marking the commencement of construction of ParkLife 2 in Brunswick.

It was fantastic to have our key project contributors join us in marking this special milestone on Clifton Park, many of whom have worked together for several months (and years!) to bring this project to life. It takes a village…

Thank you to Thane for setting the tone, commencing with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony welcoming us to Wurundjeri Country.

It was a pleasure to break ground with a such a supportive and enthusiastic project team all united to achieve better 🌿

One for the construction fans... before we build up, we must build down. 🚧 Retention piling works are happening on site at ParkLife 2, enabling us to excavate safely next to an existing street and hold everything in place. The engineering that has to happen before you can do the bits above ground that people notice…!

20 months. 35 events. 2,000 people through the BINQ Lift n Slide doors…!

The Better Building Exchange has closed at 427 Albert Street, Brunswick to make way for ParkLife 2. And what a run it’s been. We started BBX in May 2024 with a simple idea: less talk, more action. A place where people could come together to explore ideas, skills, technologies and relationships to improve our cities and regions.

Together with a number of values-aligned businesses and organisations, we hosted over 35 public events. We also contributed over $35,000 in direct value to values-aligned organisations through complimentary event space hire, who just needed a room to do good work in.

Thank you to everyone who hosted, attended or took the mic. It’s been a privilege to watch the space used exactly the way it was intended... BBX isn’t done and we’re
already thinking about what comes next…!
