Father’s Day felt a little extra special this year.

I’m lucky enough to have my own father here in Australia, working in the cladding industry himself for one of Melbourne’s leading commercial companies.

So having him alongside me at my boys’ school for Father’s Day was a pretty special moment — three generations together.

Dad and I have both spent a big part of our working lives in construction and cladding, so as you can imagine, there’s never a shortage of things to talk about. Jobs, systems, materials, builders, the industry, what’s changed over the years — and usually a few opinions on how things should be done!

I’ve learned a lot from him over the years, not just about work, but about turning up, working hard and taking pride in what you do. They’re the same values I hope to pass on to my own boys.

As business owners and people working in construction, it’s easy to get caught up in the next project, the next quote, the next deadline or whatever problem needs solving that day.

Days like this are a good reminder of what we’re actually doing it all for.

Very lucky to have Dad here in Australia, still working hard, and even luckier to have him there beside me and my boys for Father’s Day.

Three generations, plenty of cladding talk, and a pretty good Father’s Day. ❤️

**MESSED AROUND & FOUND OUT AGAIN 🤦 **

Picked the boys up from school, decided to take the long way home, got ourselves bogged… and the end result wasn’t exactly ideal. Jack and Caolán loved it but the car didn’t.

My car’s got more hits than The Beatles at this stage — and this is exactly why. 😂

Young Sam picked me up this morning and we headed out to complete some variation works after a downpipe had been relocated.

Nice little job using Vitracore panels — lightweight, easy to handle and a really clean product to install.

There’s a good mix of finishes across this project too — timber-grain look soffits, crisp white walls and grey soffits wrapping around the corner. It’s all come together into a sleek, clean, modern finish on this new factory.

Another one closed out. ✅

Caulker will be following straight behind us DEVELOPMENT MATERNAL to finish it off.

Nice easy one for a Friday — and young Sam’s already off to the next one.

THE WORK COMES IN SEASONS. YOU’VE JUST GOT TO KEEP MOVING.

With things a little quieter around Melbourne, we’re continuing to push further into the regionals.

Recently we were up in Townsville, we’re looking at another opportunity further north in Cairns, and this morning we’re back into regional South Gippsland, looking after one of our long-term partners at McCall Smith Builders.

They’ve kept us busy over the years, so when they need us to travel, we travel.

The key is making the travel time productive.

A trip into regional Victoria isn’t a wasted day if you use it properly.

For us, it’s about keeping our partners happy, keeping the pipeline moving and staying consistent.

Construction goes in seasons. There’ll be busy periods and quieter periods.

When it slows down, you don’t sit still waiting for it to come back.

You widen the net, look after the people who look after you, and keep moving.

Summer always comes back around. 💪🏻

TOWNSVILLE — JOB DONE. 🤝☀️

Well, there you go. Another one across the line.

Massive thank you to young Daire for putting in the hard yards with me up here. Big week, big effort, and we couldn’t have got this one finished without him.

A huge thank you to our partners at Allclad for trusting Forever Bright to head north and get this one delivered.

We were working alongside Castle Rock Construction, who made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible knowing we only had a limited window in Townsville. Damien and James, who also travelled up from Melbourne, looked after us big time on the ground.

And a special shout-out to the boys at Iconic Carpentry. They helped us out when we needed it and played their part in getting this one over the line. That’s what good construction teams are about.

It wasn’t without its complications. Adelaide, Perth and now North Queensland have all taught us the same lesson — once you start working interstate, materials, freight, lead times and the way things operate locally can be very different to Melbourne.

You adapt. You learn. And the next time you come back, you’re better prepared.

Every day, in every way, we’re getting better and better.

Paper peeled, she’s looking fantastic, job’s in the bag, and hopefully this won’t be our last one in Townsville.

We’ve spread the Forever Bright name around, stuck our heads into a few offices and made some good connections. Hopefully one day there’ll be a picture of us hanging on the wall up here. 😂

For now, me and Daire have punched out the Magnetic Island hike, the hard work is done, and we’re fu***ng loving life, boys. 🌴🍻

Job done. Lessons learned. Connections made.

After letting the hair down Tuesday night following the bad news about the sheets, they finally landed at 8:30 this morning — and we got stuck straight in. 💪

Big shoutout to the boys at Iconic Internal Carpentry and their fit-off crew. They lent us the guide today that we couldn’t get on the plane with us — absolute lifesavers and a massive help. Appreciate it, boys. 🤝

We’ve lashed on half the fascia today, so we’ve set ourselves up nicely for another big one tomorrow. The plan is to finish the front of the canopy and hopefully start setting some corners.

Then we’ve got a few hours Friday morning before the boat to Magnetic Island — some much-needed R&R after a couple of massive days. 🍻🏝️

The clock’s ticking now. It’s in mine and young Daire’s hands to get this one across the line.

Melbourne were trailing for most of the game today.

But they kept the faith. Kept the pressure on. Kept showing up.

And when the opportunity came, they took it and got the win.

There’s a pretty good lesson in that for business.

It’s rarely one big moment that gets you there. It’s the 1%ers.

Keep showing up.
Keep making the calls.
Keep following up.
Keep improving.
Keep doing the things that matter — especially when the results aren’t coming straight away.

You don’t need to be winning every minute.

You just need to stay in the game, keep applying pressure and be ready when the opportunity comes.

🏗️ **Getting projects back on track. That's what we do.**

This Geelong project came to us after construction was already underway, with the builder needing support to get the façade package back on programme.

⏪ Before we could move forward, we first had to go backwards. Flashings, foot moulds and key weatherproofing details needed to be rectified to ensure the façade would perform as intended for years to come. Taking the time to get these details right now prevents costly issues down the track.

👷♂️ With tight deadlines approaching, we mobilised a larger crew and worked closely with the builder to regain momentum. The team's commitment, adaptability and attention to detail were key to getting this project moving again.

📐 This was anything but a straightforward installation. The upper levels featured raking walls, stepped elevations, tight reveals and extremely limited access, making every stage of the install more challenging.

💡 Instead of letting those challenges slow us down, we adapted. We developed a vertical sheet-cutting method—similar to a CNC process—that allowed us to accurately cut panels within the building's corridors. The result was greater efficiency without compromising the precision the project demanded.

🤝 We're grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the team at Alchemy and appreciate the trust they placed in us throughout the project.

🔧 Interestingly, we weren't the original façade contractor. Increasingly, we're being called in to help recover projects, solve complex installation challenges and support builders when projects need experienced hands to get them back on track.

⭐ Complex façades are where our team thrives. It's the intricate detailing, difficult access and technically demanding installations that allow our experience to make a real difference.

💪 Every challenge is an opportunity to deliver a better outcome.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about work slowing down.

Our view? The work is still there—you just need to be prepared to go and find it.

Last week we mobilised to Townsville. This week we’re in Yarram. These opportunities didn’t happen overnight; they came from building relationships, staying proactive, and being willing to travel where the work is.

🏡 A standout project in Sale, regional Victoria.

This incredible architectural building came to us through our partners at Probond Architectural, and it's exactly the type of project our team loves taking on.

Set amongst the open landscape, the roof was installed using Procore A1 composite panels lightweight, durable and perfectly suited to the harsh rural environment while delivering a clean, modern finish.

Designed by homeowner, builder and architect Nolan, the vision was simple but striking: a low-pitched pavilion roof that would sit naturally within the landscape while standing up to the elements.

Working alongside the designer throughout the build meant every detail could be refined as we went, ensuring the finished result stayed true to the original vision.

The Monument finish transforms throughout the day, reflecting the changing light and allowing the home to blend seamlessly into its surroundings.

Of course, projects like this don't come without challenges. Complex hips, endless string lines and precise set-out demanded patience, skill and attention to detail but that's exactly what we thrive on.
