Good pest management takes consistent effort.

Earlier this week we removed two more foxes from the Kuitpo area as part of an ongoing fox control program for one of our clients.

The results are speaking for themselves, with our client reporting zero fox-related lamb losses this lambing season.

Back out for a follow-up on our crow control job this week, the owner also asked us to broaden our scope and remove any Roos encountered (all done within the law and with permits)

Managed to remove one more crow, the rest of the flock had become pretty wary and were only landing on neighbouring properties.

We’ll head back once the crows have settled into the property again to try and teach them a long term lesson.

Murder of Crows Targeting Lambs 🐦‍⬛🔪🐑

A new client contacted us after crows had been attacking and killing newborn lambs. Predation by crows on vulnerable lambs is a genuine issue during lambing season, so despite the high winds and persistent rainfall, we headed out to help.

Crows are among the most intelligent and wary birds in Australia, with exceptional eyesight. Getting within range required effective camouflage, concealment, and a realistic caller to draw them in.

We were able to safely and humanely remove four problem birds. Being such intelligent animals, the remaining members of the murder are now likely to avoid the area, reducing predation pressure on these newborn lambs for the remainder of the lambing period.

Five foxes removed during a recent lamb protection job.

A client in the Kuitpo Forest area asked us to keep watch over her lambing paddocks after noticing an increase in fox activity around the property and becoming concerned for the welfare of her lambs.

Definitely the busiest we have seen this property, with two foxes taken from the same spot within a few minutes of each other shortly after our arrival.

This job highlights the importance of ongoing predator control during lambing season. A single night can make a difference, but long-term results come from a consistent management program.

We’ll be returning to the property next week for a follow-up visit.

With winter approaching in the Adelaide Hills, rabbit breeding activity is increasing and numbers can rise quickly.

We recently removed these animals from a local Airbnb property, where burrowing had created warrens through guest areas and caused damage to the grounds.

A solid result for a new client. We were recently contracted to protect a farmer’s chickens after fox activity picked up around the property. The foxes seemed more interested in the strawberries, but they were still a real risk to the flock. We removed five foxes in a single night, giving the farm some much-needed breathing room. Happy chickens, happy farmer.

A repeat client of ours is about to start lambing so he called us in to thin out the local fox population. A very successful night with six on the deck.

The Ace H50R worked a treat, allowing us to remain concealed and get the drop on the local vandals.
