It’s taken me over half my life to learn ( and I’m still not quite there yet ) but it’s valuable trait to have. Less certainly is more , wether it be how many ingredients you put in a dish how many vino’s you wash it down with or how much you polish your plaster. Knowing when to stop and walk away isn’t easy.
Glass mirrors are for hanging on bathroom walls , the way the light bounces off plaster when its polished to an imperfect lustre creates a subtly that cannot be under stated , this brings the desired softness to living environment that we all want. A little bit of a tidy up and I’m finally done on this stairwell over two years after starting. Feeling very satisfied

The Micro cement movement happening in Australia right now is great and I’d like to keep it that way that’s why I’m happy to share my knowledge.
- Learn proper application technique off professionals , this is not a product suited to the DIY house wife regardless of what the supplier may tell you.
- Use quality! The term Mircocement is being bastardised by inferior products , these will fail and so will you if you put your name to them.
- Know your trowels! And no one knows them like Mick , this French trowel from EDMA is hands down the best I’ve ever used as is , the perfect match right here! If you’re in Sydney and love ya trowels like I do his collection is a must see!

Heritage restoration done and dusty , very dusty it’s Sunday and it’s getting dark but it’s done, rising damp issues resolved with chemical injections and the plaster stripped and replaced like for like. This is true solid plastering , lime and sand render and lime and gypsum topcoat , the fundamentals of our trade yet the majority don’t understand it. The true art of our trade is slowly but surely dying , try as I might the next generation aren’t interested 🤷‍♂️ maybe this looming recession might help but I doubt it. Anyone want an apprenticeship??

Here’s only one system upto the harsh environment of waterfront builds. Sto is bullet proof and comes with a 20 year plus warranty! Nothing comes close. Here we have built out levels with Sto Novo reinforced with fibreglass mesh , then applied two coats of Sto Flexly a waterproofing product with a 400% stretch! Then two coats of Sto Milano concrete finish , this needs a quick sand then a few coats of Sto Lotsansan self cleaning paint. You will not get anything better

I haven’t posted anything on this page for a long time, it’s been a very tough few years and as much as I hate to admit it , I gave up. I burnt out , I abused the good times and dwelled to much on the bad times and got bent over by the big guys and let it beat me. To lose everything and start again at 40 isn’t an easy pill to swallow, when you’ve spent 20 years working til dark til your fingers bleed , and those that know know it’s not easy to back up day after day ( and I’m not talking about 90% of you muppet fair weather so called tradies I’ve employed over the years that think the day ends a 3pm and all the closest pub) the day doesn’t end if you’ve ever had a real go! But this post isn’t about that , I’ve realised again just how satisfying it is to try to do your work as good as you possibly can and focus on nothing else but perfection, for and grief , lose , family , money , what the time is ! forget everything but the job in front of you. I’m remembering the passion and satisfaction my work gave me and that’s happiness every single day! Stay positive stay passionate and you’ll always win! , to all you c***s that love to see you fail 🖕 I’ve already won di*****ds
