Do you actually need another wall? 🌿

Open-plan workplaces still need privacy and separation, but the answer doesn’t always have to be a solid partition.

Tropical Plant Rentals used plants to solve both. A mobile vertical garden creates a natural divider between work areas while keeping the office open and flexible.

Along the desks, planting above the tambour units provides natural screening while retaining practical storage below and taking up no additional floor space.

Plants that are beautiful and have purpose.

Because good plant hire isn’t about filling an empty corner. It’s about understanding how a space needs to work and finding the right plant solution.

Targeting a 5 Star Green Star outcome takes more than adding plants at the end of a fitout 🌿

At A W Edwards’ St Leonards headquarters, Tropical Plant Rentals worked alongside Gray Puksand, Rintoul and A W Edwards to integrate planting into custom joinery and support the project’s targeted 5 Star outcome under Green Star Interiors v1.3.

We assessed the low-light conditions, selected durable sculptural species and calculated the soil volumes required for long-term plant growth. Multiple site inspections allowed us to coordinate plant sizes, root systems and growth habits precisely with the cabinetry dimensions.

That planning meant our five-person specialist crew completed the installation in just four hours, well inside the two-day programme while protecting every finished surface.

Installation was only the beginning. We’re proud to have continued as A W Edwards’ plant partner for three years, providing ongoing monitoring and proactive horticultural care. Every original plant is still performing.

Indoor plants elevate more than a retail space. They elevate the customer experience.

Featured at GAZMAN Balmain, statement Strelitzia and Rubber Plants create height and impact in our Ribbed Cylinder planters, a favourite for their clean, designer feel. A variegated Rubber Plant in a Java Desk Pot continues the planting at display level, creating flow throughout the store.

Together, the planting brings nature indoors, softens the clean interior and creates a calm, welcoming environment while allowing the product to remain the focus.

Right plant + right planter + right place = serious impact.

At Aitken Civil Engineering, Tropical Plant Rentals selected a Golden Heart as the reception feature plant because its strong directional leaves echo the lines of the Aitken logo. Concrete finish cone pots and bowls complement the office’s industrial style.

The same design thinking continues throughout the office with planting tailored to the Aitken brand and how each area is used, creating flow and continuity from one space to the next.

Every family business has a story 💚

At Tropical Plant Rentals, ours has grown over many years. Two dads, two generations and years of building something together.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads and father figures across our Principal network, TPR team, clients and communities. The ones who are there before you even have to ask, who quietly lend a hand and make things a little easier, and the ones who may no longer be with us but what they passed on stays with us.

Happy Father’s Day 🌿💚

Commercial Fitouts evolve. That’s where experience matters.

On this project, the plants had been ordered and were ready to install when the final custom joinery dimensions required an adjustment to the planned planting solution.

With the project programme already moving, our team worked quickly to develop a practical solution, adapt the installation and keep the fitout on schedule.

It’s a great example of why we recommend engaging Tropical Plant Rentals early.

For custom joinery planting, we work with architects, designers, builders and joiners before fabrication to help coordinate:

• Plant and pot sizing
• Joinery dimensions and cut-outs
• Planter depth and structural requirements
• Waterproofing and PVC liner solutions
• Drainage and irrigation requirements
• Lighting and plant selection
• Access for ongoing maintenance

Integrated planting isn’t simply about choosing the plants. It needs to be designed to fit, built to perform and practical to maintain long after handover.

Our Commercial Fitouts service supports projects from early planning through installation and ongoing maintenance.
