The Refinery, Newstead
When one of Brisbane's premier event spaces has an emergency, facility downtime simply isn't an option. The Refinery is a stunningly renovated warehouse known for hosting flawless weddings and corporate events, so we knew we had to act fast.
As a long-term and valued client, Dan, the owner, contacted us personally to handle a critical issue and get the venue back up and running smoothly.
The Job Breakdown:
The Issue:
A failed submersible sewer pump that needed quick replacement.
The Challenge:
From our previous experience working on this sewer pit, we knew the existing 240V low voltage power cables could not be pulled through the existing conduits and would need to be cut.
The Solution:
We quickly coordinated multiple trades and used a specialised electrical splice method with a cast resin joint kit.
The Tech Detail:
By encasing the joined cables in a heavy-duty resin that cures into a solid block, we completely sealed the connection against water, sewage, and corrosive chemicals.
The Result:
A permanent, 100% watertight electrical connection perfectly suited for a submerged pit installation.
Awesome effort from our team to get this sorted with minimal disruption for Dan and their guests!
