“Small key, big house”.

A short yet powerful statement by one of my teachers on accessing the treasure-house within us.

Think about it…we have these tiny keys that open up the doors to our homes every day. This metaphor is a way to think about the effect of Vedic meditation. It’s a tiny key, to a “big house”. Where all the answers to our so called problems lie. It’s where we realise there are no problems, only situations to be dealt with here and now. Problems are mind-made and need time to survive. They cannot survive in the actuality of the Now.

And herein lies the magic of the twice daily practice of Vedic meditation…we cultivate the environment to be spontaneously, without effort, in the actuality of the Now.

I was life-ing, I don’t know…emptying the lunch boxes. I glanced across to the bunch of flowers sitting on our shelves, catching the afternoon light. The beauty stopped me in my tracks and its moments like these I think, this is it. In the every day-ness to catch the pure, undisturbed, radiance of nature. This is beyond the so called glimmers. I mean the noticing, the witnessing, the observing of the deepest, pulsating, essence of life that you know, you and I are also a part of.
