The hardest-working member of the Hawthorn Lawns team… until it rains. 🐾🌧️

When the weather puts a stop to mowing, it doesn’t mean the work stops.

Today we’re catching up on invoices, scheduling jobs, returning calls, and getting everything organised so we’re ready to hit the ground running when the sun comes back out.

Our office manager Maggie seems pretty happy with today’s workload… or maybe she’s just supervising from the couch. 😴🐶

Rain or shine, there’s always something to do behind the scenes to keep Hawthorn Lawns running smoothly.

Not every job is as simple as it looks 🌿

This one started as an enquiry through a recommendation on the Auburn and Hawthorn Community page — always appreciate the local support.

We began with a free quote, and from there worked closely with the client to come up with a concept that suited both what they wanted and what would actually work on the balcony.

It looked like a straightforward replant… quick swap-out, or so we thought.

Once we got stuck in, the existing plants were completely root-bound and the soil had broken down — which explains why everything had been struggling.

So instead of just replacing plants, we did it properly:
• Removed the old, failed root systems
• Refreshed the soil
• Replanted based on the concept we developed together

Now it’s set up to actually thrive, not just look good for a few weeks.

Sometimes the real value is fixing the problem you can’t see.

Today I did a garden at my favourite house in Hawthorn. If you know where it is, you know what an iconic house it is 👀🌿

To top it off, I was offered chocolate biscuits and a cup of tea halfway through the job… how good are some of my clients? ☕🍪

Days like this make it pretty easy to love what I do.
