Most people have no way of judging whether their aircon was installed properly. It either blows cold or it doesn't.

Here are five things you can check yourself, in about two minutes, without knowing anything about air conditioning.

If something on this list doesn't look right on yours, send us a photo. We'll tell you whether it matters or not, and we won't charge you for the opinion.

Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Comment CHECK and we'll send you the full list.

This came out of a unit on the Gold Coast this morning.

That black on the barrel isn't dust. It's mould and biofilm, it builds
up because the barrel sits wet every single time the system runs.

Here's the part most people don't know: cleaning your filter does
nothing for this. The filter catches the big stuff. The barrel sits
behind it, and the air blows straight over it into the room you sleep in.

We deep-clean split systems and ducted across the Gold Coast and
Brisbane. Barrel, coil, drain tray, the lot.

Talk about a challenging install! We fitted a 2.5kW Daikin split system into an incredibly tight spot, ensuring perfect airflow by mounting the outdoor unit up high. This one tested our skills, with plenty of improvising (and some rock climbing!) to get it just right. Another successful job in the books!
