An electrical contractor performing work on an energised switchboard, failed to comply with the requirements of the Electrical Safety Regulations s19-s22.

As a result of this failure, an arc flash occurred, causing significant damage to the electrical chassis of the switchboard where circuit breakers were connected.

The contractor’s licence was suspended, and they were issued with a reprimand and a $2,000 penalty.
