One of the most rewarding parts of architecture is seeing a space transition from an idea into a place that people can truly call home.

This was one of those moments — a happy lil architect captured on film earlier this year, taking in the finished result of a project that had been a long time in the making.

We always start with a sketch.

It’s the simplest and most effective way to explore ideas without limitations. Keeping things loose in the early stages allows us to test different options, challenge assumptions and uncover opportunities that might not be obvious at first. It’s where we experiment with layouts, light, views and how the home will respond to the site and the people who live there.

Before the details, documentation and construction, there’s the sketch — a space to explore possibilities and shape the vision for the project.

Designed like a commercial kitchen, the butler’s pantry uses a pass-through to separate the hardworking back-of-house zone from the cleaner front-of-house kitchen.
