🔥 With the heat continuing to rise across the Central West this week there are some steps you can take to ensure your Air Conditioning system is working its best. ❄️

Whether you’ve got an evaporative or reverse cycle air conditioner, a few simple tips can make a big difference on hot days ☀️⬇️

💨 Evaporative Air Conditioner Tips
✔️ Keep windows and doors slightly open to let hot air escape. Evaporative’s need air flow to efficiently cool the air, so open that window.
✔️ Run your system early before the heat peaks, don’t leave it until the house is hot.
✔️ Use ceiling or pedestal fans to boost airflow.
✔️ Works best in dry heat 🌵
✔️ Clean pads and good water flow = better performance 💧

❄️ Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner Tips
✔️ Set your temperature to a comfortable 23–25°C and turn on early🌡️
✔️ Close windows, doors & blinds to keep heat out (the opposite of an Evaporative system).
✔️ Use Cool mode with fans on low or auto
✔️ Clean filters regularly for efficient airflow
✔️ Routine servicing keeps your system reliable 🔧

This can ensure you keep your house as cool as possible and most efficiently.

As 2025 draws to a close, we’d like to sincerely thank all of our valued clients, suppliers and supporters for your continued trust and support throughout the year.

It’s been another busy and rewarding year for DSW Electrical, and we truly appreciate everyone who has chosen to work with us. Your support allows us to keep doing what we do best and to continue growing within our community.

Our tools are officially down for 2025 as the team enjoys a well-earned break until 5 January. During this time, Stephen and David will be on call for emergencies.

We would like to wish Coopa all the best as he finishes up with DSW and heads closer to home in 2026, we thank him for his hard work and dedication to DSW Electrical over the past 2 1/2 years. We also welcome our new apprentice Brock Picker to the DSW Electrical crew.

We’re looking forward to 2026, with some exciting plans and new opportunities ahead that we can’t wait to share with you.

DSW Electrical is a locally owned and operated business based in Forbes, providing high-quality electrical services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable First Year Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team.

What we’re looking for:

- A genuine interest in the electrical trade

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Driver’s licence (or working towards it) preferred

- Completion of pre-apprenticeship training an advantage but not essential

What we offer:

- Hands-on training and support from qualified electricians

2024 done! It's tools down and the boys are taking a much deserved break.

Fun fact: More than 60% of our sites run on pure sunshine! Yep, solar-powered goodness all the way. 🌞🔋 And who’s leading the charge? None other than our chief goat herder, Mitch. It been a hot one! 🔥

For those with Evaporative Air conditioning make sure you are getting the best out of your units in these conditions.

For optimal performance, evaporative air coolers require airflow from open windows or doors. The cooler pulls in outside air and pushes the stale indoor air out. This keeps the indoor air fresh and cool while reducing the humidity collecting in the room.

So open those windows!! Otherwise the hot air can’t get out 🥵
