We are proud to supply our uniquely Tasmanian grown, designed and handcrafted timber pieces to the domestic and tourist market. KK Kreations is a brother and sister team and we are passionate about Tasmanian specialty timbers known for their unique grains, patterns and colours. We are also proud to continue a family woodworking tradition using the same workshop started by our father Peter who after his retirement in 1997 found his calling in making specialty game pieces, boards and boxes as well as coffee tables in Huon Pine, Macrocarpa and Camphor Laurel. With his workshop standing idle for 2 -3 years the KK Team began experimenting with their own wood creations and so discovered they were a "chip off the old block." The team soon found a niche market for their own unique style of both decorative and functional bespoke pieces in Tasmanian wood. Our philosophy is waste nothing and let the wood speak to us. Our Tassie Tiger Limited Edition Huon Pine Platters are a perfect example of this. These are statement pieces ideal for the centre of the dining table with the design inspiration coming from the striped lower back of the Tasmanian Tiger or Thylacine. We also upcycle old bits of metal or tools some recognised for their function in days gone by, then we redesign them incorporating our beautiful wood. As a result we continue to create many one-off items such as trowel platters, side tables, plant stands, garden settings and firepots. At KK Kreations we pride ourselves on being a sustainable and ethical enterprise. We use off-cuts and seconds and actively source salvaged materials then upcycle these finds that would have been destined for waste.
