Jocelyn and Alan’s Jayco Caravan Adventure Model had major electrical issues, including a damaged BMPro/JHub system caused by poor wiring connections. The caravan also had limited solar capacity, no inverter and insufficient power to run appliances while travelling off-grid. ⚠️🔧

We removed the entire AGM 12V battery and BMPro setup.. and installed a 24V Lithium Battery and Solar Array with a 3000VA Inverter for 240V power when off grid!

📋 Caravan Inverter | FAQ

Q. Is it normal for the inverter to turn on when plugged into 240V mains power?

A. Yes, this is completely normal. Systems installed (like Enerdrive or Victron) use transfer style inverters.

⚙️ Monitoring: The inverter automatically switches on to monitor the health of the incoming 240V power before passing it through.

⚙️ Battery Charging: Many of these units double as battery chargers. When you plug into mains power, the inverter stays on to charge your batteries, meaning you are putting power back into the system rather than drawing from it.

A terrifying reminder of why professional installation matters. 🛑

Emily and Simon were very close to having a caravan fire.

Emily and Simon were caravanning around Australia when a major electrical fault in their caravan’s power system nearly resulted in a devastating fire. The culprit? Dangerous, poor workmanship from a previous installation.

Even though Outech OffGrid didn't install the original setup, our team stepped in immediately when Emily and Simon needed help. We provided technical support to help them make their caravan safe, ultimately saving their trip!
