HOUSE & GARDEN TOP 50 Rooms

We’re thrilled to share that the laundry in our Rose Bay Project has been longlisted in the 2026 Australian House & Garden Top 50 Rooms!

This is the laundry from my Rose Bay Project, a complete redesign of a 1920s bungalow in Sydney. In its previous life, this room was an afterthought: a poky, awkward little space.

Nothing in a floor plan gets to just sit there not working, including the laundry. I relocated it entirely, gave it proper storage, and built in two washing machines and two dryers, so this could finally be the dream laundry a busy family home actually needs.

Good floor plan design is never really about one room. It’s about how every room earns its place and supports the next, so the whole home works as hard as the family living in it.

The full Light House renovation was featured in the May issue of Australian House & Garden, and I’m glad to see this laundry recognised in their Top 50 Rooms.

A huge thank you the Australian House & Garden editor Gavin Kirk and the entire team.

How I Fixed 3 Floor Plan Mistakes Without Extending.

I've worked on 80 floor plans this year and every home has the same problems. Here's how we fixed them on this Sydney bungalow renovation. No extensions, just a smarter floor plan. The stair was in the wrong spot, the kitchen was blocking the living and dining zones, and a poorly designed walk in wardrobe was wasting space in the master bedroom. Full walkthrough on my YouTube channel.

Our design isn't confined by geography! Alongside our Australian projects, we work internationally, responding to different landscapes, climates and ways of living while maintaining the same thoughtful design approach. These early renders for an apartment in Cyprus capture the first stages of that process.

52sqm doesn’t leave much room for compromise. For this Bondi apartment, the challenge was to create a home that felt open, functional and connected, without changing the existing footprint.

By opening the kitchen wall and introducing a slim island, the kitchen, dining and living areas now work as one. Custom joinery, a built-in banquette with integrated storage and a hidden study nook were all designed to make every centimetre count.

Some projects take you out of the box ,encouraging new ways of thinking, experimenting and approaching design.

This Lavender Bay home was one of those projects. An old, almost derelict house in ‘Artists’ Row’ was renovated, reconfigured and reimagined to become more connected to its spectacular surroundings. Amongst the landscape of Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden, the setting and story of this home encouraged us to embrace a more whimsical approach to the exterior, creating something that feels rooted in its place.

Banquette or dining chairs? A few things to consider.

Have a tricky corner? A banquette might be the answer.
Want flexibility? Freestanding chairs are easier to adapt.
Love long dinners and gathering? A built-in seat creates a more intimate setting.
Need the room to feel lighter? Chairs can help maintain flow.

The best choice is always the one that responds to the space, and how you live in it.

A coffee table should do more than simply fill the space in front of a sofa.

We think about proportion, choosing a piece that sits comfortably within the room and feels in balance with everything around it. From there, it's about creating layers. A sculptural coffee table paired with smaller side tables offers flexibility, allowing the layout to adapt depending on how the room is being used.

Our litmus test? Everyone should have somewhere to put down a drink.
