👏 A BIG SHOUT OUT TO MT BARNETT ROADHOUSE! GOOD PEOPLE, GOOD FEED & GOOD OLD KIMBERLEY HOSPITALITY! 🔧🍔

A bloody big shout-out and Thank you from Marshall Mechanical Co to Matt and Kim, the managers of Mt Barnett Roadhouse, and their awesome crew!

We pulled in for a couple of nights while we waited for the rest of our mob to catch up with us on the Gibb, and these legends couldn't have made us feel more welcome.

Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were fantastic, the hospitality was second to none, and they're just genuinely beautiful, down-to-earth people. The sort of people that make travelling and working through the Kimberley that much better.

And then there's the BURGERS... 🍔🤤
Fair dinkum — some of the best bloody burgers we've had! When you've been bouncing around the Gibb, covered in pindan and living out of the work ute, a feed like that is worth its weight in gold! 😂👌

To Matt, Kim and the whole Mt Barnett Roadhouse team — thanks for putting up with us, feeding us and making us feel right at home. We genuinely appreciate everything you did for us.

⚠️ WHEN THE DUST CLEARS… THIS IS WHAT CAN BE LEFT BEHIND.

These photos are a very real reminder of why speed, dust and dirt roads can be a dangerous combination.

While travelling on unsealed roads, heavy dust can reduce visibility to almost nothing. At speed, that leaves very little time to see a vehicle ahead, judge the distance, slow down or stop safely.
In this instance, another vehicle ran directly into the rear of this bitumen tanker, causing significant damage to the rear of the unit and its running gear.

Marshall Mechanical Co attended to assess the damage and carry out the necessary repairs to get the tanker back to a condition where it could safely make the journey back to Derby for further attention.

The photos tell the story — this was a substantial impact, and it could have ended very differently.

If you're travelling our Kimberley dirt roads:
Slow down in dust. Increase your following distance. Never blindly push through another vehicle's dust cloud. If you can't see what's ahead, you can't react to what's ahead.

No destination or deadline is worth risking a life for. Stay Safe!

For us, it was another remote repair and another damaged unit made safe enough to get back.

Well… apparently Marshall Mechanical Co has a Temp new apprentice. 😂🐦

Only in the Kimberley… 😂
This little fella got clipped by another vehicle up the Gibb, so we pulled up, rescued him, and got him cozy in a box on the back seat.

Nek minute turn around and there’s the bloody kookaburra riding shotgun on top of the back seat like a pro!!! 🤣

Not sure if he is impressed with the Uber service, but at least he is safe! 🤣

🔧 ANOTHER FEW DAYS UP THE GIBB… ANOTHER FEW REPAIRS! 🔧

Marshall Mechanical Co is still out bush, up the Gibb River Road with the Bitutek crew, keeping the gear moving and the job rolling. 🔴⚫️

A few more days of corrugations, red dirt, heat and machinery doing its best to shake itself to bloody pieces means — you guessed it — a few more running repairs! 😂🔧

Luckily, Bitutek have their bomb-ass supervisors keeping the circus pointed in the right direction, while Chris keeps chasing rattles, fixing broken bits and making sure anything that tries to give up gets another chance at life. 😂

Out here it’s pretty simple:
Something rattles — tighten it.
Something cracks — fix it.
Something falls off — pick it up.
Something stops — call Marshall Mechanical Co. 🤣🔧

Plenty of laughs, plenty of pindan, plenty of kilometres and a bloody good crew to be working alongside.
Another day up the Gibb, keeping Bitutek rolling.

📍 CHECKING IN FROM KALUMBURU! 🔧🔥❄️

Marshall Mechanical Co. is still up north, keeping the wheels turning and the gear in the fight!
It’s been mostly weld repairs this round — apparently the corrugations up here have decided that if it’s got a weld, a bracket, a mount or anything remotely attached… they’ll have a bloody good crack at breaking it. 😂🔥

In among other cool stuff, we’ve also knocked over a couple of A/C repairs, because let’s face it — Kalumburu is no place to be sitting in a machine with no bloody air-con! 🥵❄️

Meanwhile, the main crew are absolutely smashing out their contract and kicking goals. 💪

They’re keeping the gear moving, the job rolling and giving us plenty to keep an eye on along the way.

A few sparks flying, a bit of gas in the A/C, plenty of red dirt and another day getting it done in the Kimberley.

The Gibb River Road: 4th Day In!!!! 😂🔧

Nothing says “team support” quite like spending two solid days tackling the Gibb River Road, bouncing across corrugations big enough to rearrange your internal organs — all while tailing an awesome crew and keeping the show on the road.

The Marshall Mechanical Co support crew brought up the rear, making sure everyone kept moving, lending a hand when needed, sorting out the inevitable mechanical dramas and, of course, picking up the odd broken bit and piece that decided it no longer wanted to be attached to what it once was. 😂

A bolt here, a few fire extinguishers, a donkey motor jigsaw puzzle, a bracket there… by the end of it we were half expecting to find an entire vehicle sitting in the middle of the road.

But that’s what we do. When the going gets rough — and on the Gibb, rough is an understatement — we keep the wheels turning and the team moving.

Two days. Plenty of dust. Thousands of corrugations. A few casualties along the way.

Four days in and having an absolute blast with this crew, every single on of them are all fantastic, genuinely great people.

Marshall Mechanical Co. would like to advise that from Monday, 17 August, we will be unavailable for in-town works for approximately two weeks while our team is away in Kalumburu completing contracted works for a client.
