When a custom home builder chooses a 4-bay farm shed as the starting point for his own family homeโ€ฆ you know itโ€™s going to be something different.

What was once a simple farm shed has been transformed into a seriously impressive family home, with every detail designed with purpose.

We were lucky enough to play a small part in that story with the staircase.

Sometimes a staircase is simply functional. A transition between floors, tucked between walls, designed to do one job and little else.

And sometimes... it's the focal point of the entire home. Designed with intention. Built to make a statement. The first thing people notice when they walk through the front door, and the last thing they forget.

This staircase is exactly that.

An extension of the homeowner's personality. The warm blonde timber flows effortlessly into the polished concrete, while the black steel balustrade creates a bold contrast against the white stonework. Every material is strong enough to stand on its own, yet together they create something far greater than the sum of their parts.

Great staircases aren't accidental. They're carefully considered, expertly crafted, and built to become part of the home's identity.
