2026 WINTER WORKS PROGRAM NOW COMPLETED 🎉

Our annual Winter Works program has wrapped up for another year and provided a number of improvements to our water delivery network.

During the irrigation off-season, we carry out important maintenance and upgrades to the network to ensure we can continue supplying water to our customers reliably and efficiently.

This year the works included:
-Remediated a number of channel sections including 1.7km of the MV6 channel near Waaia
-Treated submersed aquatic weeds on about 300km of channel
-Carried out bridge and culvert replacements and repairs

Carrying out works during winter means less impact for customers and means we can access submersed infrastructure when channels are dewatered

Winter doesn’t slow us down—it just changes the challenge.

Our team is currently constructing a 3km stretch of irrigation channel for Murray Irrigation, delivering an important piece of infrastructure that will support local agriculture for years to come.

Building through winter brings its own set of challenges. Wet ground conditions, shorter daylight hours, and unpredictable weather all require careful planning, experienced operators, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Despite these conditions, our crew continues to deliver reliable progress every day.

Projects like this are about much more than moving earth. Irrigation channels are critical infrastructure that ensure water can be delivered efficiently and reliably to the farmers who produce the food and fibre our communities depend on. A well-built channel improves water delivery, reduces losses, and helps strengthen the long-term sustainability of our irrigation network.

We’re proud to be working alongside Murray Irrigation on a project that will make a lasting difference to our farming region.
