A covered deck should feel like an extra room, not an afterthought bolted onto the side of the house.

This one's got shutters for privacy, a roofline that keeps it usable in the rain, and enough width for a table and chairs without feeling like you're squeezing past the door every time you walk out. From the first message to the final walkthrough.

No dropped balls. No chasing. No "I'll get back to you on that."

This is what one of our recent clients said after we wrapped their job:

When people think about renovating, they usually picture finishes.
Stone.
Tapware.
Cabinet colours.
But after handover, those aren't the things you'll think about every day.
You'll notice how easy it is to unload the groceries.
Whether everyone fits around the kitchen island.
How the afternoon light fills the living room.
Or whether you're constantly walking around furniture because the layout never quite worked.

Most backyards have a dead zone. The bit past where people actually walk.

This deck didn't leave one.

It runs almost the full width of the house, then keeps going, out past where most decks would've stopped, so the whole yard gets used instead of just the four metres closest to the back door. Same block, same size, but now there's a reason to walk to the far end of it.

That's the difference a bit of layout thinking makes before the boards go down. Not more space. The same space, actually used.
