Made for Mum. ❤️

This one means a little more to me.

I made this entry table for Mum using a beautiful piece of highly figured Spotted Gum, paired with Black Walnut, a simple brass drawer pull and a lot of thought in the details.

I wanted the continuous grain to flow naturally across the front and drawer, while keeping the design simple enough to let the timber speak for itself.

Every piece was chosen, shaped and finished by hand.

THE WEAVE 🖤

A piece of Australian timber craftsmanship, created from beautiful Blackbutt and Jarrah.

The pattern is formed through the construction itself — thin Jarrah strips are laminated lengthways through the Blackbutt, then cut and flipped to reveal the distinctive Weave design.

Every piece of timber brings its own grain, making every board completely unique.

🪵 The Oil Bath — the moment it all comes together

This is the part I never get tired of… 🤎

After hours of cutting, glue-ups, machining and sanding, it’s time for the oil bath.

This new Weave Design End Grain Board, made from Blackbutt & Jarrah, completely changes as the oil hits the timber.

The Blackbutt grain comes alive, the rich Jarrah lines get deeper and darker, and suddenly that crazy little weave pattern really starts to stand out. 🔥

There’s something pretty special about taking a piece of timber that started as a stack of rough boards and ending up with something like this.

Tell me you're a woodworker without telling me you're a woodworker...😂

There's just something ridiculously satisfying about this part of the process!

After cutting my half-lap joints on the table saw using my INCRA Mitre Express Sled, these thin little strips are all that's left.

And then comes the best bit... giving them a good whack! 🔨🪵

The sound. The feel. Watching those little strips break free one after another..🙌🏼

A woodworker's dream.🤤

And I bloody love how accurate this sled is. When you're chasing those perfect, repeatable cuts, that accuracy makes all the difference.

Illusion End Grain Cutting Board is built from premium Australian hardwoods, combining White Oak, Spotted Gum and Jarrah to create the striking geometric cube pattern, framed by a rich Blue Gum border.

Every piece is individually cut, assembled and finished by hand, resulting in a board that is as much functional art as it is a kitchen tool.
At 450mm x 350mm x 38mm thick, it's generously sized for everyday food preparation, entertaining, or serving. The end grain construction is naturally kinder to knife edges and designed to provide decades of service with proper care.

Finished with 100% food-safe mineral oil and my own
handcrafted board conditioner made from food-safe mineral oil and locally sourced natural beeswax.

This handmade 3D illusion End Grain cutting board is made from beautiful Australian hardwoods
Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and Tasmanian Blackwood all make up the cube design, which is framed in a Sydney Blue Gum boarder.

The Large size of 470mm x 350mm x 38mm thick makes it the perfect all round board for any type of food preparation.

Sealed with 100% food safe mineral oil and my own Board Conditioner (made from 100% food safe mineral oil and locally sourced natural bees wax).
