Before you call us about artificial grass, pop outside with a tape measure and get the rough length and width of your space in metres. Multiply them together and you've got your approximate square metres. If the area's an awkward shape, just split it into rectangles and add them up, close enough is fine.

Have a quick look for the things that change a job too, like garden beds, raised edges, slopes, a pool, or a narrow side gate the team would need to get through.

If you're comparing artificial grass quotes, here's a tip. Don't just compare the turf. Compare what happens underneath it. 🌿

It's the part you can't see once the job's done, which is exactly why it gets skimped on. But in Queensland's conditions the base is what makes or breaks a lawn. Proper excavation to a consistent depth, a road base or crusher dust layer compacted firm and level, grading that sends water away from your house, solid joining and pinning at the edges, and the right infill for the job. That's the difference between a surface that's still true in ten years and one that's rippled and soggy in two.

We do all of it as standard on every job, from a small courtyard to a large commercial site, with over 20 years of Queensland turf experience behind it.

A myth worth clearing up if you've ever fancied a putting green at home. ⛳

Most people assume you need a big flat backyard to make one work, so they never look into it. In reality a functional practice green fits almost any footprint. Narrow blocks, L-shaped yards, corners that look far too small to bother with, all of them can be laid out into something genuinely useful.

The trick is designing around the space rather than forcing a shape into it. Hole placement, the contours, the fringe, even which putts you want to practise most, all of that gets worked out to suit the block you've got. A compact green with a couple of tricky breaks can sharpen your stroke just as well as a sprawling one, sometimes better.

So if you've written the idea off because the yard felt too small, it's probably worth a second look.
