Fresh Renovation & Construction

PSA to business owners.

This is one of those practices in the building industry that genuinely gives us the ick.
Quoting low to get a contract signed, knowing the margin will likely be made up through variations later is such a gross tactic.
Of course variations happen. Building has unknowns, and renovations especially can uncover things no one could reasonably have predicted.
But that’s very different from starting with a number that was never realistic in the first place.
This time in the Before We Build series, we’re looking at how the cheapest quote can very quickly become the most expensive build. When comparing quotes - the detail matters! Make sure you’re comparing apples with apples.

Slow start this week! 36hrs in Sydney at a loose end whilst I get a tray fitted to the Ute. A couple of runs, gym, sauna, great food, paperwork with a view and back west to pick up the rig! Such a beautiful city so nice to visit. Thanks to the crew Norweld | Heavy Duty Aluminium Ute Trays & Canopies for the quick turnaround

Smashing start to this job. Nothing makes me happier than super tidy framework and clean subfloor areas. I love this stage of construction, getting the substrates right and taking care of all the work that nobody will ever see.

Pretty hard to beat being on the tools on beautiful days like these.
