✈️🛏️ WHEN YOUR FLIGHT COMES WITH UNINVITED PASSENGERS… 🐜😳

Well, this is one in-flight experience nobody ordered! 😂

Passengers on a recent Qantas flight from Perth to Rome reportedly found themselves sharing their journey with BED BUGS! The situation was serious enough that the aircraft was grounded for a deep clean.

And while we can have a little laugh, bed bugs are certainly no joke!

These tiny hitchhikers:

🧳 Can sneak into luggage, clothing and belongings.
🏠 Can follow you home from your holiday.
😬 Are notoriously difficult to eliminate without professional treatment.

The scary part? Bed bugs aren't necessarily a sign of poor hygiene. Even the cleanest homes, hotels and apparently aircraft can encounter them!

Did you know there's actually a big difference between household ants and garden ants and it matters a lot for your treatment? 🐜

Household ants come inside looking for food and water, trailing through kitchens and bathrooms, these are covered under our standard pest warranty. Garden ants' nest in soil outside, in pavers, lawn or garden beds, and are a separate treatment not covered under the same warranty. They can look pretty similar, which is why we always ask a few questions before recommending anything. The last thing we want is to treat for the wrong thing.

A quick way to tell, if they're trailing inside in a line heading toward food or water, they're most likely household ants. If they're mostly outside and only come in when it rains or gets cold, you're probably dealing with garden ants.

Quick question — when did you last have your home treated for pests? 🤔

If it's been 12 months or more, your protection has lapsed. Most people don't realise until they start seeing activity, and by then it's always a bit more involved (and more expensive) to sort out.

Our annual pest treatment covers cockroaches (excluding German cockroaches), household ants, web spiders and silverfish, and comes with a 12-month warranty, so if you see any of those between treatments, we come back. Here's something a lot of Sunshine Coast homeowners don't realise, rodents are active year round here. 🐀

Unlike cooler parts of Australia where rodent season is more predictable, our mild winters just mean they start looking for warmth a little earlier and that usually means your roof, your walls or your kitchen.

The signs to watch for are scratching or scurrying sounds in the roof at night, small dark droppings along walls or behind appliances, chewed food packaging or wiring, and smear marks along skirting boards. The tricky thing is that by the time most people notice these signs, the problem is already well established.

When you see ants in a line… they’re not just wandering. They’re following a scent trail.
One ant finds food, leaves a chemical trail, and the rest follow it...exactly.
That’s why wiping them away doesn’t stop it 😮

The trail is still there. And they’ll keep coming back to the same spot until the source is gone.
