🚛 EMPTY DROP DECK RETURNING FROM GLADSTONE – THIS WEEK

The quickest trench isn't always the fastest project.

Hydro excavation isn't about replacing excavators and other mechanical excavation methods - it's about using the right tool where precision matters.

On this job, multiple existing underground services crossed the trench alignment. By exposing each service using non-destructive digging, the installation could continue safely and efficiently, without the uncertainty that comes from digging blind. 🫣

A cable strike or damaged pipeline can quickly turn a "fast" excavation into days of delays, repairs and additional costs.

Sometimes the most efficient way forward is to slow down for a few metres, so the rest of the project keeps moving.

It's not every day we have two vac trucks working side by side... but when the job calls for it, we're ready.

On this project, bringing in a second truck meant we could significantly increase our dewatering capacity, helping move large volumes of water in less time and keeping the project moving.

Our team recently travelled to Gladstone to remove silt from foundation excavations ahead of a concrete pour. Working carefully around the completed reinforcing steel, we cleaned the footings and helped get the project ready for the next stage.

Hydro Excavation Queensland has vac trucks and teams readily available to help with flood clean-up around the Bundaberg and surrounding areas. High flow and high pressure portable washdown systems are ready for deployment to affected areas now.

Our equipment can:
💦 Remove heavy mud and silt using vac trucks (6000L and 16000L options)
💦 Wash down flood-affected areas with high-flow washdown hoses (3000L Trailer and 21000L Semi Trailer options)
💦 Pressure clean mud from driveways, concrete and hard surfaces (standalone systems)
💦 Clear blocked stormwater pits, drains and culverts
💦 Remove water and slurry from pits and tanks (bulk removal down to 1mm depth)
💦 Remove large quantities of mud, debris or similar using skid steer loaders, excavators and tipper trucks

Vac trucks 🚛 are ideal for flood recovery as they can wash down and vacuum mud at the same time, making clean-up much quicker.

We’re happy to assist homeowners, businesses, contractors and councils where we can.

Our sister company MFI Electrical can also assist with all stages of electrical work, including testing and safety checks for re-energisation by Ergon. Hydro Vac Truck Operator (suit general all-rounder)

‼️9 day working fortnight‼️

Hydro Excavation Queensland are on the lookout for a keen new operator for our hydro vacuum truck operations, with an immediate start available. We are based in Bundaberg with predominantly local works, plus some travel may be involved as operationally required.

The process of hydro vacuum excavation includes the use of pressurised water jets to mobilise material, combined with a vacuum loaded tank to suck up and remove it. Hydro Excavation is the proven and safe way to dig without risk to underground assets and infrastructure.

The position involves all aspects of Hydro Excavation works out on various sites, plus general duties as required (including, but not limited to: Truck maintenance and cleaning, workshop and general duties). The job involves periods of manual and dirty work.

Our constantly expanding fleet of machines include:
- 6000L Hydro Excavation rigid truck (HR)
- 16000L Hydro Excavation semi trailer (HC)
- 2500L Jetter Truck (MR)
- Tandem Tipper Truck, with tag trailer (HR / HC)
- 5.5T Excavator
- 65HP Skid Steer
- 1.7T Excavator

About you & the role
- Responsible for completing hydro vacuum excavations in Bundaberg and surrounds
- Ability to work safely and follow WHS requirements
- Positive work attitude
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Able to pass Pre-Employment and Periodic Drug & Alcohol screenings
- Able to travel and work away as required
- Able to work some extended hours or overtime as required
- Construction White Card

Additional ideal attributes
- HR or HC Truck Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Mechanical mindset and basic mechanical ability (pre-start and operational checks of machinery)
- Forklift ticket (High Risk Work Licence)
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Work in Confined Space (or willingness to obtain)
