🛠️ Dragline Bucket Maintenance – Made Safer and Simpler 🏗️
A major mining client needed a better way to support dragline buckets during maintenance—especially at the bucket lip, where most of the work occurs.

AE Young Engineers designed a purpose-built dragline bucket stand that:
✔️ Raises the bucket lip for better access
✔️ Is easily placed using a dozer
✔️ Doesn’t require precise bucket positioning
✔️ Can be fabricated with standard materials

By combining scan-based 3D design, engineering analysis, and continuous client consultation, we delivered a safe, efficient, and user-friendly solution that’s now in use on site.

AE Young Engineers was recently engaged to support the replacement of a 15-year-old desliming module at a Bowen Basin CHPP. The project required a fully engineered solution to modernise aging infrastructure while maintaining safe and continuous operation.

Our scope included:
🔹 Laser scanning and 3D modelling of existing structures
🔹 Engineering assessments of structural frames and process equipment
🔹 Development of lifting and crane plans
🔹 Installation and deconstruction methodologies
🔹 Quality assurance and project engineering support on site

🛠️ Ever looked inside a massive stormwater culvert under a road?

AE Young Engineers recently inspected 16 culverts along an 11km stretch of sealed road. Some were in great shape — others, not so much.

Using proven methods and a risk-based engineering assessment, we helped our client figure out which defects needed urgent repair, and which ones could wait. That meant safer roads and smarter budgeting.

🚧 Project Spotlight: Marion 8050 Dragline Refurbishment 🚧

In 2023, AE Young Engineers led the design and engineering for a tub refurbishment on a Marion 8050 dragline.
