Saturday night, 29th of August — the 2026 Brisbane City Local Business Awards, finalists in Trades Services. 🏆

Being a finalist means more than an awards night. Terrain was built on doing good work, communicating clearly, and earning trust — and having that recognised alongside so many strong Brisbane businesses meant a lot.

To our team — Sam, Brandon, Josh and everyone who makes up the Terrain way — this one belongs to you.

We didn't bring home the trophy, but we came home proud of what Terrain has become.

We spent Saturday night, 29th of August, at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 as finalists in the Trades Services category.

Being a finalist means more to us than an awards night. Terrain was built on a simple idea: do good work, communicate clearly, and build a business people can actually trust. Having that recognised alongside so many strong Brisbane businesses meant a lot.

Thank you to our team — Sam, Brandon, Josh and everyone who makes up the Terrain way. This recognition belongs to all of you.

Thanks also to our Business Awards Coach, Lara Arden, who was a fellow finalist this year and has helped us see how far we've come.

Congratulations to fellow finalists Donna Benjamin and Kim & Nick, and to Nick Kruger and the team at Haven Realty — Lisa, Gary, Cooper and crew — on their Real Estate category win.

Thank you to Precedent Productions and the Brisbane City Local Business Awards for celebrating the businesses working hard in our community.

We didn't bring home the trophy this time. We came home proud of what Terrain has become and motivated for what's next.

An electrical licence doesn’t cover refrigerant handling; the authorisation needed to work on air conditioning gas. It’s separate, and it comes from a separate body.

That’s the practical reason most electrical contractors don’t touch air conditioning.

We hold both. Master Electricians Australia, licence 1504623. ARCtick licensed, L213933.

For a committee, that’s one contractor with documented cover across four systems, rather than four sets of paperwork to chase before anything gets signed off.

Worth asking any contractor for their licence numbers. Ours are above.

Coomera to Plainland to Noosa — 154 postcodes across five zones of South East Queensland.

Head office is Westlake in Brisbane. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.

Emergency and make-safe cover runs 24 hours across the whole footprint, not just the zones close to base.

That distinction is worth checking with any contractor. A service area on a website and a service area at 11pm on a Saturday are often two different maps..

You get a name, not a dispatch queue.

Before work starts, someone’s assigned to your job and the materials are already sorted. You know who’s coming, and you can reach them directly.

That matters most on the jobs nobody plans for. When a board fails late on a Friday, you’re not starting from scratch explaining your building to whoever picks up.

Chris, Sam and the team work the same way across every job — same standards, same documentation, same people you dealt with last time.

The most useful page in a job pack is the one listing what we’re not doing.

Exclusions get written down before work starts. Not negotiated afterwards, when the job’s half done and everyone’s already committed.

If the scope changes on site — and on industrial work it often does — that triggers a phone call, not a line item you find at invoice time.

Shutdown windows, live boards, plant that can’t come offline: the conditions that create scope movement are the conditions we work in most. Which is exactly why it’s agreed in writing first.

Four clocks start when you call us. They are not the same clock, and we do not merge them.

A person answers. Any hour, not a call centre and not a message service.

If it is an emergency or make-safe, someone is on site the same day.

If it is planned work, we are there the next business day for a site assessment.

The quote lands in your inbox within two business days of the enquiry.

Four commitments, kept separate on purpose. "We are available 24/7" tells you nothing about when anyone actually shows up.

Most buildings don’t have an electrical problem. They have a coordination problem.

Power, data, air conditioning and security aren’t four separate trades. They’re four systems sharing one building — the same switchboard capacity, the same ceiling space, the same access arrangements.

Treat them as separate jobs and the gaps between them become yours to manage.

We run all four. One job pack, one set of exclusions, one approval pathway, one person you ring.

Four contractors on one building, and none of them owns the sequencing.

The cabler can't terminate until the conduit's run. The AC can't be commissioned until the board carries the load. The cameras don't go up until the cabling's in.

Somebody has to hold that order. On most sites, that somebody is you — and you've got a business to run.

One job pack across all four systems. One set of exclusions, one access arrangement, one approval pathway. Your program stops waiting on a phone call between two trades who've never met.

Nobody calls an electrician because they're excited about it.

Something's stopped working, or it's about to, and now there's a stranger coming to your house. What most people actually want is simple: someone who turns up inside the window they gave you, explains what they found without the jargon, and leaves the place the way they found it.

That's exactly what the Bill Bartley Service Excellence Award measures — not the technical work, but how people are treated while it's happening. Terrain has been named a Finalist for it in the 2026 Master Electricians Australia Excellence Awards.

It's the one we're quietly most pleased about, because it isn't something you can certify. You either do it on every job or you don't.

Switchboards and safety switches, ceiling fans and lighting, EV chargers, split system air conditioning, CCTV and video doorbells, home Wi-Fi and data cabling — the same team and the same standard, whatever you call us about.

And if we've worked at your place before, we'd really appreciate a recommendation on this page. It helps other South East Queensland homeowners work out who to call.
