⚠️ How many smoke alarms should your home have?

Most homeowners are surprised by the answer.

Under Queensland’s updated fire safety laws, homes must have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms placed throughout the property before 1 January 2027.

That typically means alarms in:

• Every bedroom
• Bedroom hallways
• Every level of the home

Depending on your layout, many homes will need 3–6 alarms or more.

If you’re unsure whether your home is compliant, you can check in under a minute.
