Choosing The Right Tiles
Different tiles come with different advantages and disadvantages, so it's important to consider these in order to choose the right tiles for your needs. Here are some popular options and things to consider.
Ceramic
- Available in a range of finishes including polished, semi-polished, matte, satin, and glossy.
- Ideal for those light to moderate traffic areas, such as bathrooms.
- If high quality and properly maintained they can last a lifetime
Porcelain
- Come in a wide range of styles, designs, and patterns.
- Harder to cut and drill through for fitting towel rails or lights
- Holds up a little better than ceramic
Mosaic
- If you are looking to make your bathroom a feature then this may be your best option
- Available in glass, ceramic, and marble varieties and in a wide range of colours
- They require more grouting than other alternatives therefore more maintenance
Natural Stone
- Can be expensive
- Very durable
- These tiles are porous meaning if they are not sealed correctly, they are prone to water and are easily stained.
