We're almost there at the Stack House!

From construction site to finished home, this project is now in the final stretch before handover next week.

We spent time over the weekend working through defects and final checks, and the focus now is on the last details, documentation and making sure everything is ready for the client to move into their beautiful new home.

Handover is always an exciting milestone, but there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before the keys are passed over.

We can’t wait to share the finished project soon!

Between finishing a build and handing it over, there’s a whole lot of checking, documenting and going back over the little things.

Today we’re at Stack House working through it room by room, trade by trade, making sure everything is where we want it before our clients’ Practical Completion Inspection next week.

Behind the tiles and beautiful finishes are also demolition, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, preparation, installation and the coordination of multiple trades.

And if you’re renovating an existing home, there can also be things we simply can’t see until work begins. This is why we talk about budget, scope and expectations early.

One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in construction is the gap between what people expect building to cost and what it actually takes to deliver a home today.

It isn’t one single material or trade driving the price. A build includes everything from skilled labour and materials to engineering, compliance, site setup, equipment, insurances, waste, coordination and a long list of things that eventually disappear behind the finished walls.

That’s why we prefer to have honest budget conversations early. Not to talk people out of their ideas, but to help make sure the design, scope and investment are aligned before too much time and money is committed.

The earlier we understand the numbers, the more opportunity there is to make good decisions.
