🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Rodents have officially rated this back-of-house area:

“5 stars for nesting potential” 😭🐭

This is exactly how rodent activity quietly starts behind the scenes in commercial environments 👀

Food debris, clutter, hidden corners, and low-disturbance storage areas create the perfect conditions for rodents to move in unnoticed.

And the biggest problem?

Most commercial infestations start long before staff actually SEE a rodent ⚠️

By the time activity becomes obvious, there’s often already:

- nesting
- contamination risks
- product damage
- operational concerns
- compliance issues

Back-of-house hygiene and regular monitoring play a huge role in preventing rodent activity before it escalates 👏

If your commercial site is showing early signs of activity, Green Pesty is here to help 💚

Green tree ants build their nests by pulling leaves together and using silk produced by their larvae to “glue” the leaves closed 🌿🐜

These nests are usually built high in trees and can grow surprisingly large over time as the colony expands.

Green tree ants are known for:

- strong colony teamwork
- aggressive nest protection
- painful bites/stings
- building multiple connected nests throughout a tree

Have you ever spotted one of these nests before? 👀🐜

What you're seeing here is a paper wasp nest.

Unlike mud wasps, paper wasps live in small social colonies and build exposed nests using a paper-like material made from chewed wood fibres mixed with saliva. Each open cell acts as a chamber where larvae develop as the colony grows.

Paper wasps are commonly found around eaves, pergolas, fences, outdoor entertaining areas, sheds, and patios.

While they are generally less aggressive than European wasps, they will defend the nest if they feel threatened or disturbed.

One of the biggest reasons proper identification matters is that different wasp species behave very differently. Mud wasps are mostly solitary. Paper wasps build small colonies. European wasps form large, aggressive colonies. That is why treatment approaches can vary significantly depending on the species involved.

In accommodation and hospitality, small pest problems can quickly become public problems.

Guests notice spiders, flies, webs, and pest activity faster than most owners realise — and once it reaches reviews or social media, it can affect trust, reputation, and future bookings.

That’s why prevention matters.

Our FREE DIY Pest Control Audit Check was created specifically for motels and accommodation businesses to help uncover blind spots and improve pest prevention before issues escalate.

Wasps don’t usually hang around for no reason. If you’re suddenly seeing more around your outdoor areas, sheds, entertaining spaces or business, there’s a good chance there’s a nest nearby or activity building up.

And trust us… they multiply FAST once the weather warms up 🐝

This is why early treatment matters.
Much easier to deal with a few now than a full nest later 👀

If wasps are becoming a regular visitor at your place, send us a message and we’ll point you in the right direction 💚

This is one of the reasons baiting can be far more effective than simply spraying visible ants.

Because the ants you see are only a small part of the problem. Worker ants travel out searching for food, then return it to the colony where it is shared throughout the nest, including other workers, larvae, and queens.

The goal is not just to reduce the ants moving around the surface. The goal is to target the colony itself.

This is also why disturbing ant trails too early, or using the wrong products, can reduce the effectiveness of treatment. The bait needs time to be carried back through the colony to do its job.

Have you ever treated ants and found them back within a few days?

What you’re seeing here is European wasps taking over an existing paper wasp nest 👀

You can still spot a few paper wasps remaining, but the European wasps have already started overtaking the nest.

European wasps are highly aggressive colony-based wasps that expand rapidly once they establish themselves. In many cases, what starts as a small nest can become a much larger infestation within a short period of time ⚠️

Unlike paper wasps, European wasps:

- build much larger colonies
- are more aggressive
- scavenge around food and drinks
- can sting multiple times

A couple more weeks and this likely would have become a fully active European wasp nest

If you’re noticing increased wasp activity around your home, it’s always best to act early 🐝

What you’re seeing here is a German cockroach infestation inside machinery, feeding on gel bait treatment 👀

German cockroaches LOVE:

🔥 warmth
💧 moisture
🍔 food residue
🕳️ tight hidden spaces

Which is why they commonly infest:

- dishwashers
- ovens
- coffee machines
- electrical equipment
- commercial kitchen machinery

The gel bait works by allowing the cockroaches to feed on it and carry it back into their hiding areas, helping target the infestation at the source rather than just the visible activity 🪳➡️🏠

One of the biggest problems with German cockroaches is that infestations often stay hidden inside machinery long before people realise how serious it has become.

They can even damage motors and electrical components over time ⚠️

If you’re spotting signs of activity, it’s always easier to deal with early.
