Formal season is upon us… and can you think of anything worse than your bathroom flooding on the day of your daughter’s formal? 😩💦

Definitely NOT the pre formal drama anyone needs!

We attended the emergency call and found a blockage causing the bathroom to flood. We were able to clear the blockage, get everything flowing again and save the day! 👨‍🔧💪

We recently helped our friends at Bayview Golf Club with their new practice mat, installing a new drainage system to catch surface water and direct it away from the practice tee area.

With the help of the Bayview greenkeeping staff, we were able to knock this one over quickly and get the area ready for the new synthetic turf.

A great little project with a clean finish and, most importantly, no more water sitting around the practice mat. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

💧 Think you might have a hidden water leak? Don’t wait for it to get worse.

On a recent job, our team was called out to investigate a leaking water pipe. Once located, the leak was isolated, but due to its position beneath the building, the best solution was to divert the main water supply and reroute it externally.

We removed the damaged section of pipework, connected the new water supply to the existing system, reinstated the water and thoroughly tested everything to make sure there were no further leaks and all fixtures were operating correctly.

🔎 But what are the signs of a hidden water leak?

Keep an eye out for:
💧 Unexplained damp or wet patches
🎨 Peeling, bubbling or discoloured paint
🧱 Staining on walls, ceilings or floors
👃 Musty or damp smells
💦 Mould or mildew appearing unexpectedly
📈 A water bill that suddenly seems higher than normal
🚰 Hearing water running when all taps and fixtures are off
🌱 Unusually green or wet patches around your property

Some leaks can be hidden for a long time before they become a major problem.

If something doesn’t look or sound right, get it checked before a small leak becomes a big repair.

Smelling gas? Even if it comes and goes, don’t ignore it.

A recent customer contacted us after occasionally noticing the smell of gas in their home, even when the cooktop burners were switched off.

The smell wasn’t constant, but they did the right thing and called us in to check!
Gas issues aren’t always obvious, and a smell that comes and goes can still be a warning sign. Regular maintenance and having your gas appliances and connections inspected by a licensed gasfitter can help identify potential problems before they become a serious safety risk.

When it comes to gas, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

🚧 Stormwater Blockage & Pipe Repair

Another stormwater issue sorted by the team at On Par Plumbing💪🔧

After investigating a blocked stormwater system, we used a sewer camera to locate the blockage approximately 5 metres downstream. A high pressure water jetter was then used to clear the obstruction.

During the works, we discovered a sinkhole near the garden shed, which led us to uncover a disconnected section of stormwater pipework.

We excavated the area, removed the faulty section, installed new pipework, backfilled the excavation and left the site clean and tidy. ✅
