Half walls are best when installed wall to wall on the longest wall for a few reasons.

The big one for me is it gives the room a feeling of depth and high end vibes.

Yes it gives you a ton of shelving and yes it allows you to install a niche but for me the part you can factor is the in person wow that you get.
