Recently we have had the pleasure of upgrading a couple of local switchboards after adding additional circuits and fittings.

The original boards contained a mix of circuit breakers and fuses.
While both offer protection to the installation, neither offer the superior protection of RCBO’s

An RCBO, or residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection, protects electrical circuits and people from electric shock by:
-Detecting and interrupting overcurrents, such as short circuits and overload
-Detecting and interrupting earth fault currents, also known as residual current
-Disconnecting the circuit when an imbalance is detected
