It was a privilege to join Gilgandra High School today as the industry representative for Brooke Watts’ Introduction to Drone Technology & Industry Applications session.

While I Zoomed in from home, it was fantastic to chat with the Year 9 and 10 Agriculture students about how we use drones in the real world at TL Rural, from mapping and thermal imaging to helping make better decisions on the land.

The future of agriculture is evolving rapidly, and seeing young people so engaged with emerging technology gives us a lot of confidence in where our industry is headed.

A huge thank you to Brooke Watts for inviting us to be part of the day and for the incredible work she’s doing to connect students with real career opportunities in agriculture and technology. 🚁🌾

Around here, we know there’s always another job waiting.

If you’ve got a fence that’s leaning a little more every day, a gate that won’t shut properly, or a few repairs you’ve been meaning to tackle, we’d love to help.

We’ve got some room in the schedule for maintenance work over the next little while and are happy to take on those jobs that often get pushed to the bottom of the list.

Because keeping an existing fence going is just as important as building a new one.

This before and after is from a recent storm repair where a fallen tree came down across the fence, leaving a fair bit of damage behind.

Rather than replacing the entire fence, we were able to repair the affected section and have it back to being strong, secure and stock proof.

It’s a great reminder that not every damaged fence needs a complete rebuild.. sometimes a quality repair is all it takes to get things back on track.

Blackberries don’t disappear with one quick spray. Timing, coverage and follow-up all make a huge difference.

We put together this simple “Do This / Not That” guide with a few practical tips we’ve learnt from working in the paddock. 🌱

✔️ Spray actively growing plants
✔️ Aim for full cane and leaf coverage
✔️ Follow up regrowth
✔️ Pick suitable weather conditions

❌ Spraying stressed plants
❌ Spraying before rain or in windy conditions
❌ Expecting one application to solve everything

Always read and follow chemical labels and seek professional advice where needed.

A practical upgrade taking shape out at Dunkeld.

This project included the installation of a new trough setup and surrounding infrastructure designed to allow stock access from three sides.. improving stock flow, reducing pressure around the trough and making better use of the paddock layout.

There’s still more to come, with new fencing to follow as the project progresses.

We enjoy being involved in projects like this that combine practical planning with durable rural infrastructure built for everyday farm life.

In the process of widening an existing laneway setup out at Dunkeld.

A fair bit of welding, steel and problem solving goes into building something that’ll make moving stock easier and improve the flow of a property for years to come.

We enjoy the challenge of finding solutions that balance innovation, functionality and longevity.

Found these pigs close to home during a recent thermal scout with the drone.

Thermal technology gives a completely different perspective of what’s moving across rural properties after dark.

Closer than you think.

Most farms have a museum.

Old machinery. Old wire. Old stories.

The tools change, but the country doesn’t.

What’s the oldest thing still sitting on your place?
