You can learn something new from a stranger. But to relearn something about yourself, you need a mentor!

At the ‘Mentoring 101’ workshop that I facilitated at the @ Women in Economics Network Mentoring forum last week, I had the opportunity to address a group of mentors and mentees about learning to build a structure and scaffolding for mentoring partnerships

We worked towards:
- Agreeing on certain essentials while setting goals.
- Working out the frequency of meetings and collectively consenting on what stays confidential.
- Being open to receiving critical feedback and brainstorming on what can be done to work on it.
- Outlining overarching goals together, via a paired activity.

Thank you Namrata Nair for this opportunity. I look forward to staying connected with the WEN Team.

Wishing the mentees and mentors all the success in this partnership and more!

I recently attended a workshop on the topic of ‘Health and Longevity’ and there are two things that stuck with me, that I would love to share with you all.

One was the concept of ‘life span’ versus ‘health span’ – good health is not just about living longer, but about living healthier.

The second thing that resonated with me much more, was “If you are going to spend money anyway, spend it on preventing your health, rather than managing it”.

Along with these insights came the realisation that I have changed and it makes me happy. I have changed because I chose to invest in myself. You can read more about it in my blog. Link in bio.

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” That is exactly what we did at the Inward Collective Workshop on 30th July!

Imagine a group of ten women in one cozy room, exchanging experiences with the common goal of being ‘In It Together’, supporting each other and celebrating the differences without feeling threatened. It opened up an ocean of possibilities, especially when we flipped the situation and realised that although someone else’s life may be better than ours, it also meant more pressure!

Shifting the focus from comparison to compassion – Giving ourselves the permission to reach out and ask for help and to reach out and help someone else; putting ourselves in their shoes, without worrying about chasing their timelines.

I am grateful to Kala McLean for giving me the opportunity of hosting this workshop at the Women's Community Centre. Not only did it give us a space to be ourselves and speak our minds freely, but it also gave me the opportunity to be able to contribute to the community centre in my own way.

Thank you for this opportunity Women in Economics Network and Namrata Nair!

I am truly honoured to be part of the launch of the 2026-27 Women in Economics Mentoring Program!

I have been excited about this collaboration ever since I was first approached with this opportunity. The attributes governing a mentor are very similar to those of a coach – Striving to build structured interactions, setting measurable goals, and investing in helping individuals realise their true potential. I aim to leverage my knowledge and hands-on experiences to help the participants learn, grow, and succeed, collectively.

Looking forward to making this session informative, insightful, as well as engaging.

One of my clients mentioned the other day that off-late, she has consistently been feeling tired. After a while, she broke down and said that it wasn’t a direct result of any one thing in particular, and that it was probably a culmination of multiple responsibilities and expectations over the years.

During our conversation I realised that this feeling of exhaustion is more common than I thought, especially amongst women. Just that it hasn’t been discussed out loud or often, and was instead sub-consciously resulting in a negative projection. Sadly, towards other female peers. It may sound unusual but criticism is often a result of comparison, that stems from dissatisfaction with oneself. And more often than not, we see it as competition that could threaten our own social existence.

My blog about 'Self-Care Should Be a Self-Prescribed Mandate' talks about a 'Five-Point Self-Care Mantra' that I would prescribe. Click the Link in Bio to read all about it.

Our upcoming Inward Collective Workshop on July 30th will be delving deeper into the concept 'Compassion over Comparison' where women can learn how to be ‘In It, Together’ - Celebrating differences without feeling threatened.

"In this never-ending race towards attaining perfection, women constantly get judged - Be it for career decisions, visual appearances, or sometimes, even parenting choices. And sadly, the one criticizing, is often another woman.

The theme for July’s 🤩** Inward Collective Workshop**🤩 is
‘In It, Together - Celebrating differences without feeling threatened.’

🔍 WHAT : A session about trusting your tribe
❓ WHY : Because compassion is more valuable than comparison
📅 WHEN : Thursday, July 30, 2026; 5:00pm - 7:00pm
📍 WHERE : Women's Community Centre. 64 Nelson St, Stepney SA 5069.
Women's Community Centre SA WCCSA

The upcoming workshop is meant for women that believe compassion is more valuable than competition.
- Question why criticism feels easier than supporting.
- Overcome fear of limitations and judgement.
- Seek similarities, look inwardly.
- Ask ‘What can I do to add value?’
- Make a conscious effort towards building a supportive community
Part of the proceeds from this workshop will go towards the upliftment of the centre. Come, choose to be ‘In It, Together’ - Celebrate differences without feeling threatened.

There are times when we end up getting too much in our own heads. Some call it over-analysing, while some say it's over-thinking. And in situations like these, we reach out to our friends, family, peers, well-wishers or whomsoever we can trust. The tricky part is that in return, we receive skewed perspectives or sometimes, even solutions that are already tried and tested.

But what we really crave is a neutral, unbiased, safe space, bound by a circle of ethics, that does not pave the path for us. Instead, that questions our actions, encourages learning from mistakes and guides us to access our own potential.

To me – This process is called coaching. And over the last decade, the one thing that I am most confident about is that my purpose of being a coach is to compile guided approaches, including key modalities of neuroscience, and help high achieving individuals deal with overwhelm, reclaim their power, find balance, to live more purposefully.

I’ve compiled my thoughts about the ‘C4 Combo: Coach-Coachee-Communication-Connection’ into a blog. Find the link in the bio to read all about it

The was held in June 2026 with the theme ‘Labels’ - Unlearning the social conditioning.

The invisible labels that we give ourselves, or that the society bestows us with often come at a cost. In order to recognize the limitations, we must first empower ourselves to acknowledge and address them. And that is exactly what we did during the latest Inward Collective Workshop. We collectively questioned the conditioning, in order to reconnect with who ‘we’ truly are.

A huge shoutout to Kristina Burtt, Kerry Kovacs and Asha Chittick who showed up and took on the challenge of confronting themselves as well as making a resolution to empower their future selves.

See you all for the next workshop happening on July 30th with the theme: ‘In It, Together - Celebrating differences without feeling threatened’. This time, happening at the Women's Community Centre.

You can click on the link in the bio to read more about it in the blogs section. More details of the upcoming workshops coming soon.

Throwback to the night of 19th June, when the atmosphere at the Electra House was charged with inspiration and positivity and I was fortunate enough to be invited to a thoughtfully curated and beautifully arranged Gala dinner by Heidi Wolff | Brand and headshot photographer Adelaide .

Themed as “Being seen – Bold & Visible”, there were engaging activities and so many moments of enlightenment that come from meeting some really amazing women and listening to their stories of achieving their dreams.

My most cherished moment was when each one of us laid out our intentions for the upcoming financial years on a sheet of paper, folded it into a paper plane and flew it high in the air, making a promise to ourselves of becoming ready for what comes next.

I even took selfies with Sarah Martin, Certified Money Coach FREEDOM FINANCE SA convey_property_settlements smiling ear to ear and feeling empowered after listening to them speak about their goals and ambitions! Indeed, one of many firsts for me.

Thank you for this opportunity, Heidi Wolff | Brand and headshot photographer Adelaide Looking forward to many more ❤️
