Finally got a chance to finish this one off!
There was a load of little bits to make this sky light what it is. 30mm indifferences in the timber trusses that I had to box out square. To get the back sheet in i had to build the wall in the ceiling space and then pull it out into the ceiling to get the back wall sheet in and then climb back into the ceiling space to stand the wall back up. The aim is minimal joins! I cut reliefs in all beam meeting points to allow for movement and use BOSTIK extreme flex to fill the gaps. This means no cracking and a perfect finish for the lifetime of this property! Matched with VELUX skylights this really is the best of the best!
Next up was the shelving unit and curtain box. Curtain to return into the shelving unit as it’s such a large window. The timber used was walnut left with a live edge. Cutting the shelves out alone was not a simple task incorporating the live edge to line up with the edge of the flushed recess. I had to outsource the brackets for this one due to time constraints but it’s certainly something I can do.
