The “Hana no Yu” hot spring facility in Hirakawa City, Japan, is using a HARGASSNER Magno-VR 300 and locally sourced wood chips for heat generation. The fuel consists of cedar and pine wood obtained from the maintenance of long-neglected forests, giving these regional resources a valuable new use as renewable energy.

With approximately 1.3 tonnes of wood chips per day, the system provides heat for the hot spring water, shower water, and even underfloor heating during the winter season. According to the operator, the switch to biomass has reduced fuel costs by around 70%.

This project is an impressive example of how modern biomass technology can make effective use of local resources, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and deliver significant economic benefits at the same time 🌱🔥

🌱 Experiencing Innovation: Delegation from Spain Visits Hargassner

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of Spanish planners and installers to Hargassner. The aim of their visit was to explore the wide range of modern biomass applications – from district and local heating to industrial solutions.

As part of the program, the group visited the district heating plant in Eiselfing as well as the Hälbig wood chip center. Further stops included the local heating plant in Weng, featuring the Hargassner moving floor system, and the company Holz Reisecker in Roßbach, where a MAGNO 995 reliably supplies several drying chambers with heat.

The program was complemented by tours of our showroom and production facilities, along with presentations and discussions providing insights into our MAGNO boilers and additional solutions such as the AirPro heat pump, hydraulic systems, and solar thermal technologies.
The combination of practical impressions and professional exchange made the visit a valuable experience for everyone involved.
